Are these directional?

BEST ANSWER: The #43327 Monoprice SlimRun AV 8K Certified Ultra High Speed Active HDMI Cable, HDMI 2.1, AOC, 10m, 32ft that I received is marked with small tabs at each end labeled for source and display respectively. Therefore, I assume that means the cable is directional.

The two are similar except the 65’ cable is not as slim as the 50’ cable. There is a measurable difference in the thickness which may be relevant if the intended application is in-wall via a tube with tight space constraints.

Are these in-wall rated?
A shopper
on Sep 22, 2021
BEST ANSWER: They are not.
CMP Plenum rated will be available early next year.
We have in-wall rated 8k Certified at shorter lengths, part numbers 42676 or 42684
If 4k HDR support is acceptable, we have that available in CMP Plenum in various lengths, part number 27392.
Thanks!

When will these be in-wall rated? The last update in Oct 2021 said “early next year” and it’s almost May 2022.

The solution I was looking for!
Works perfectly to carry 4k 120Hz HDR video and multi-chabnel audio from PC in one room to home theater on another floor.

Looks great, so far...
I bought three of these AOCs (two 15m and one 20m) to send 4K signals to my home theater and to my family room from my AV equipment closet. I haven't started the construction yet, so I haven't installed the cables yet. However, upon receiving them I immediately tested them with the cable test function in my Denon AVR. They all passed the tests with no problem, but the Denon's HDMI cable test function has a top speed of 40gbps, so I can't claim that the cables test good to 48gbps. That's what the certification is for. There's nothing on the 8K horizon that uses more than 40gbps anyway. They just built some fat into the 8K standard when they wrote it.
The cables are fairly thin and flexible, and they give the impression that they're well made. Where else are you going to find CERTIFIED Ultra High Speed cables for this kind of money. Monoprice pulled a rabbit out of their hat on this one. IMO, if you spend any more than this on certified AOCs, you're wasting your money...

Slim T H I C C run.
Not so slim run. The cable head is huge with extra metal on both the length and the width of the plug. Great quality data transfer though, got 4k at 120hz no problem.
