Is there an app (iPhone) that is used to control this speaker, i.e., linking two speakers, volume control, treble, bass, etc. ? If not, how are these speakers controlled?

BEST ANSWER: It’s linked by Bluetooth, I believe if you have two speakers both can be linked for a true stereo sound. Volume is controlled on the speaker itself. On my iPhone I can connect by Bluetooth and control volume by phone as well.

Expanding on someone else's answer - if you want to control the tone (bass/treble,etc), you need to do that at the audio source. Your music app, or perhaps the phone itself, will need some kind of EQ feature.

There is a half second delay with the sound when plugged directly into the auxiliary. Is this normal? Can it be fixed? Is my speaker defective? It is unusable like this.

I see another person mentioned the JBL speaker which is clearly a knock off of. Will this integrate with other JBL speakers? For example can I create a stereo pair using this with the JBL version?

Is the speaker itself stereo (without the addition of a second speaker)or does it bridge the input to be 2x15w mono output?

The specs table below shows that this doesn’t have a microSD card slot but the description does. It also shows the battery as 2 x 5000mah but the manual a description says just 5000mah. Finally there is a mention in the description of a custom EQ settings but the manual has no mention of how to set a custom EQ. Can you clarify these discrepancies?

Solid performer
This is a wonderful deal @$30. Loud,full sound. Great substitute for old,bulky boomboxs. Needs a little EQ to help sound shaping but not a lot. This was a fantastic deal atthis price. Not sure I would have paid full list @ $80. Some minor issues like no USB C charging and annoying turn on sounds, but not deal breakers. Catch it on sale.

Capsule 300 Bluetooth speaker - good alternative to JBL Charge 5
Satisfied with the two speakers I ordered. I don't own the JBL Charge 5 but have listened to them in the stores and think these come close to the same sound quality, especially at 50% the price, or in my case, 25% since I got them at 50% off sale a month ago.

Nice unit, with some caveats.
Nice, full sound with good volume that doesn't distort. Easy to use, connect, and switch between devices. Large footprint but we knew that going in. Battery life is overestimated. Definitely not 20 hrs run time and you need a full 5V USB converter if you don't want it to take more than 8 hours to charge.

Great Speaker
When purchasing this Bluetooth speaker I was not expecting the tone quality that it produces. It has plenty of volume and the sound is fantastic. At the price I wished I had bought a couple more for gifts.

Great sound / Amazing Value
I'd been shopping for a portable speaker for use on the deck, or around the pool, when a helpful Monoprice email called this to my attention.
On sale, I bought two of these for $80 - less than half the price of a single comparable JBL product. Extremely pleased with the purchase. The sound is great; and they pair easily with TWS, giving you stereo capability. Also, the battery life is excellent.
My only complaint is that I wish they'd adopt USB-C for charging, both for speed, and practicality. I don't like having to keep a Micro-USB cable around, since USB-C is fast becoming "the one true cable."
