If I buy 2 of these, can I connect one to the pre-out of my home theater receiver (via left/right to 3.5mm)and set it to transmit and pair it with another exact same unit across the room in receive mode and then output via 3.5mm to an amp to a set of speakers? I want to add height speakers, but don't want to rip up my walls.

Sounds feasible. I'm using a pair, one broadcasting a TV optical out, a second receiving, with headphones plugged into it, for when watching TV while others in the house need quiet.

I have an LG TV that has bluetooth capabilities. Will this unit allow me to transmit the TV audio to my stereo receiver, as well as let me use my iphone with Spotify?
A shopper
on Apr 24, 2023
BEST ANSWER: In theory, yes, but unless your tv has video delay controls (it probably doesn't), the picture won't sync with the audio, due to the processing/transmit time over bluetooth. It's a non-trivial amount of delay. You can probably still use this unit to receive bluetooth audio from your phone, including Spotify.

I don't have this transmitter/receiver yet, but any Apple AirPods support up to AAC codec for Bluetooth A2DP transmission. AAC is the best Bluetooth encoder built into Apple transmitting devices like iPhone or iPad. But based on the specs, AAC only works for receiving mode only. That being said.. you should still be able to pair ANY bluetooth headphones with the transmitter. Though performance varies by headset and supported codecs.

I just received this unit in the post, and I can't get it to switch codecs. The manual with it's tiny text describes using the pairing button to change the codec, but the unit just powers off when I try. The tiny manual says to ensure the unit is powered on, and to hold the pairing button for 7 seconds, then one of the codec buttons should light up, but it simply shuts off. Clearly something is off here, is the actual method different from the manual?

BEST ANSWER: On the transmitter, hold the pairing button for 7 seconds, the RX TX lights will momentarily light up and the unit will shut off. When you turn it on again the CODEC will toggle from HD to LL. Do this again and it will toggle from LL back to HD. If you're also using a IIIP to receive ( like I am ) it will also change from HD to LL or LL to HD to match. The transmitter and receiver don't have to be physically next to each other when switching CODECs.

Will it work with bluetooth faucet?
A shopper
on May 10, 2023
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. This transmitter and receiver is meant to make an audio device that does not have Bluetooth capabilities and give it those capabilities. The only this would assist you with the faucet would be to have like an audio signal and physical audio port and send a signal out of it to speakers, or vice versa.

I am experiencing popping in the audio of the 2nd set of headphones connected via bluetooth with Aptx LL codec on both. I have swapped which set of headphones connects first and it's always the 2nd set. After disconnecting the first set and waiting 5-20 seconds, the popping goes away on the 2nd set. I am using optical as the input. Works perfect with only one set of headphones, but that's not what I bought it for! Is anyone else experiencing this and are there any ideas for correcting?

These things are tiny!
I didn't appreciate how small these things would be when I ordered them! I bought a pair to be used to transmit audio from
a projector to powered speakers in my home theatre / living
room. They paired up easily, I see no lag between the projected image and audio when in HD or LL Codec modes so I'm leaving it in HD. Other reviewers heard hiss or a high pitched frequency in the background, I heard nothing even with the projector volume on full and no audio input, so they may have defective units or
perhaps noisy USB chargers. An amazing value for the price I paid at another retailer.

Cannot Leave Connected to Power Source While Transmitting
This is okay. It does what you expect it to do. Bluetooth pairing and using is fine.
If I leave it connected to a power source while it's transmitting, there is a high pitch frequency that is constantly playing (with or without music).
So I have to disconnect the power source while using it and remember to reconnect after using it. I don't even need the battery functionality, so this is an annoyance.

Useful addition to any set of corded headphones.
I was given a set of incredible headphones.. Beyerdynamic T5's, as a year-end gift from the company I work at's owner. They are absolutely epic, the only drawback being they're wired. With this little box I was able to take them wireless and they work all over the house. Highly recommended. I was able to get them into AptX HD mode using a Dell driver for the same series of Intel BT chip my system has.

Monoprice Long Range Bluetooth transmitter
I have a Monoprice Premium Bluetooth 5 Transmitter/Receiver (Item 38071) and it works well, but I wanted a bit more range, so I purchased the Long Range version (Item 43243) when it was on sale.
When using the Long Range version, the signal drops out at the same distance as the Premium Bluetooth 5 model, hence my review of only 3 stars, as it does not seem to provide any increase in range in my experience.
In conclusion, as a Bluetooth transmitter, it works fine, but if you're hoping to get longer range, you will be disappointed.
