Can it be build with only two shelves (removing the middle shelf and shorter tube extensions?)
A shopper
on Oct 4, 2023
BEST ANSWER: Yes, you can do that. The support tubes at the edges are all different sizes from one level to another, so you would need to figure out what lengths you want before you assemble it. The carton is a little over 100 lbs so you may need help lifting it up once you have it assembled. The reason the stand is so heavy is each shelf can hold a ton of weight. It is a great design. One note: I didn't have the grip strength to get any of the supports fully tightened. When I bought a $3 pair of work gloves that had a rubber coating, they meant I had no problem getting everything tight.

I put together one of the 24" wide units about a year ago. I can't see any reason why you can't build it with two shelves instead of three. Note that you'll want to use the middle shelf as the top shelf because of the three upright columns on the end of the unit. The middle shelf has hole for middle upright, the top shelf does not.

Yes, and you can even mix and match the tubes from the XL and Double Wide XL stands to adjust the height to your liking. I removed the bottom tubes, used the shorter tubes from a XL stand and used 8mm adjustable feet I found at a local hardware store; my Double Wide XL is approximately 24" tall now.

I would say it might be a bit risky, depending what type of weight was going on the top shelf, without any middle support, it might cause the top shelf to sag in the middle, or other weight issues might occur
hope that was helpful

Yes, that will work just fine using just two shelves.

Does it come assembled?

BEST ANSWER: No. You need to assemble. Lay everything out on the floor in order, and complete one step at a time. Not hard at all to assemble... Very Nice product, extemly stable and nice to look at once assembled...No, you need to assemble it step by step. Lay everything out in order and complete one step at a time. It's not difficult to assemble. The finished product is very nice-looking and extremely stable.

Will the legs accept casters, and if yes, what size is the socket?
A shopper
on May 18, 2022
BEST ANSWER: Yep, they will accept casters. Size is M8. Ones I ordered were about 1 1/4" in length and had no problem screwing all the way in. Only note of caution is that when you put the casters on, have another person help you to physically lift it up, rotate to right side up, and then set down. I tried rotating just straight up from its side and the plugs on the bottom tubes popped out with the casters on them when trying to pivot on those tubes with the casters. Hope that makes sense.

Can I build the stand with the taller shelf on the top (13") and the smaller shelf on the bottom, it says fully modular? Then I would be able to fit a large center that is 12" tall.

If I put the taller shelf on top, does the strip go there or does it still need to go on the bottom?

Do you sell extra sets of the shelving bars? Would like to have 2 sets of the 8.9 inch bars so it drops the total height to about 26 inches. Thanks

High expectations
Well the fantastic news is the fact that this actually beat my very high expectations. We've all been through crappy furniture that doesn't last particle board junk whatever. This is built like a tank in extremely easy to set up and even has the slots in the supports for inserting wheels to make it portable etc. The no-brainer to buy especially if it can get it on sale

The rack is very sturdy, spacious, and easier than a lego set to build? to your liking given a modular design. My use case is for 3 large CRT displays, heavy switchers and scalers to complement, marantz integrated amp, several compute devices, and gaming consoles. This is a massive sturdy stand with endless options. The bang for buck here is real. 10/10 Monoprice.

Great buy!
Really nice! Easy to assemble, verrry heavy and stable, ton of room and headspace on the lower shelf for tube equipment. And silly inexpensive compared to 'audio' shelves.

Sturdy and really easy to build!
I was looking for a very heavy duty stand to hold some pachinko machines and was having a difficult time locating the right combination of sturdy and nice looking. This stand hit all the marks for me and were so easy to build that I was pretty shocked in a good way! Highly recommended.

A great AV stand
The double-wide stand is excellent. It holds a ton of equipment and is very sturdy. I like the fact that the shelves are deep as I have some components that are deeper than normal components. Assembly is easy and one person can do it alone, although you will need a second person to help you carry it to its destination. If you will be setting the AV stand up on carpet, I recommend getting carpet furniture sliders to make moving easy once you have it assembled. Other AV stands I considered before purchasing this one were BDI, Salamander, and Solidsteel.
