Are these a good choice for right channel and left channel speakers?

BEST ANSWER: Yes, they have good off-axis dispersion, so they would still sound good turned vertically, as long as the sideways logo on the grille doesn't bother you. I believe there is a YouTube review (Erin's Audio Corner) where he mentions this application specifically.

Encore C5 Center Channel Speaker: If I am primarily interested in "high quality dialog" for tv shows and movies (i.e., not interested in special effects or music), do I need "L/R side speakers to go with this Center Channel?

BEST ANSWER: Yes, most receivers won't output only a C channel with all content included. In fact it's much better to go with just L/R speakers than just a C speaker. LCR will give you great results from all aspects, whereas you'll entirely be lacking music in some programming (where music & sfx are panned left and right, and dialog is in the center) .

Good value speaker. No hissy vocals

Good value center channel (likey good front) speaker. Very smooth midrange no hissy vocal tones. Huge upgrade from a budget center. Needed cleaner mids and this speaker delivered. Use for home theatre and music. Old school sounds like Brubeck really shine.
