The anatomy of a center channer channel graphic would seem to indicate this speaker is 9.9" high and 7.9" deep, however, visually this seems impossible since it's deeper than it is high! Can someone confirm the exact height measurement? More critically, does the height measurement include the removable feet or is it just cabinet height? I have just shy of 8" of height clearance in my cabinet so it's critical that I know the exact height of this center channel, without feet. Thanks!

BEST ANSWER: Mine is 7 7/8" high without the feet (it is also 10" deep without the screen). I would be concerned about using it without feet, as it would probably cause some noticeable vibration.

What is the power handling of this speaker?
A shopper
on Dec 17, 2022
The speaker has a lot of power. When I turn the speaker to 75 percent of the volume, that’s almost as much volume as the room can handle and with a very solid sound.

Can I use two of these as stereo setup? I would rather have two woofers than only one on the bookshelf model. Any issue to be aware of?

I would look at the frequency response of the unit as a whole. I have a very nice bookshelf speaker pair that has great mid-range and high-end response so this has been a supplement to add bass and a bit more in the area of vocals for watching TV and movies.

I just realized this is a 4ohm speaker and used as my only center channel at 75w. My AVR is 6/8ohms. Should I be concerned? From the Impedance graph, this might be an acceptable speaker if I stay out of the 100-1000hz range at high db. What are your thoughts?
Robb R
on Oct 3, 2023
BEST ANSWER: Just set your AVR to 6 ohms (even if your other speakers are 8 ohms) and you'll be fine. And, assuming you have a sub-woofer, I would also have your AVR set your speakers to "small" with a crossover point set to 80 or 100hz (your choice).

The visual measurement would lead one to believe this is 9.9" high and 7.9" deep, however, looking at the photos, this seems impossible since visually it appears deeper than it is high. Even more importantly, do the height measurements include the removable feet or is that cabinet size only? I have a very tight installation height that's just under 8 inches high so this exact measurement is critical in my application. Thanks!

I'm confused: if this is a 2 way speaker, why do your specs list TWO crossover points? (Low: 1.5kHz @12dB/octave
High: 1.5kHz @18dB/octave)
High: 1.5kHz @18dB/octave)
A shopper
on Jan 6, 2023
BEST ANSWER: There's only ONE crossover point...1.5kHz. as you just pointed out. More specifically, the low pass crossover (for the woofers) is 1.5k at a 12db. rolloff and the high-pass crossover (for the tweeters) is also 1.5k but at a 18db rollout. Therefore, it's a 2-way xover at a 1.5khz. xover point. Hope that explains it.

Will this match with the atmos mini tower speakers? I have 8 1/2 inch opening for center channel and the matching THX certified center appears to be higher than that. I am talking about the sound as the cabinet of the center will be in the console so that matching is not a concern.

The C5 and C6 both show frequency response as 56hz - 25khz. Is this correct? If so, what's the point in spending twice as much for the C6? I would like to try a pair of the C5 or C6 but find the listed frequency response confusing. They can't possibly be the same, can they???

Great Value & Monoprice Service.
At the price point I didn't expect it to sound as good as it did but the timbre was too far from matching the setup I wanted it in.
Mono price was very fast at order processing both going ways.

Full, rich sound, only been using it for a week, still need to break it in before I turn up the volume. The box is a bit big, but it has to be.

Great additional mid-range and woofer addition
Great improvement over their basic center channel unit. I wanted better spoken word sound as well as a bit more bass and this has done the job. It is a bit large and I have now mounted my TV on top of it which has turned out to work giving me more of a theater experience. The speaker is well worth the money I spent and it supplements my bookshelf pair of KEF-Cs.

Simply?.. fantastic.
As a first entry into finally assembling some kind of home theater system?. Very nice sounding components?. With its low sensitivity ? it still works with a lower powdered receiver amplifier, but is sure to come alive when you upgrade to a receiver or amplifier with more power. Clear, crisp? great choice for someone looking to venture into home theater? looking for something decent without breaking the bank.

Solid performance
Bass response could be better. I've got a pair of Polk bookshelf speakers with a ported woofer that do a much better job on the low frequencies. But I admit, they are uncommonly good and were an excellent value when I bought them over a decade ago.
This center channel speaker has great clarity, and with the other speakers in my 5.1 setup covering the lower range, dialogue with deep notes still comes out well.
Note that the dimensions given for this are wrong. Lacking any industry standardization for written dimensions as "LxWxH", one needs to rely on visual depictions, but the diagram on this product page has the front-to-back and top-to-bottom dimensions reversed. This speaker is 8" tall, and 9" deep, not the other way around.
I find it very frustrating to not be able to get accurate dimensional information on Monoprice's speaker products. I really wish they'd get their act together in that respect.
