Can you use RCA cables or just XLR cables?

Can the woofer be turned to the side so its not pointing out to the front? I don't think I'm getting buy in from the wife for something sticking out 2 feet. 17 inches she would probably go for.

Yes indeed, sideways works fine - as mine is. It really is quite large (better than I anticipated) so it really needs to be sideways for most people, I imagine. And being a sub, the sound is non-directional so it sounds great. Actually, this beast sounds amazing! It roasts the Klipsch 12" reference series sub I had, both in thump, but more importantly, in the clarity of the lower registry. It's not just a rumble-maker, it really adds more clear tone to whatever you listen too. I was so impressed, I picked up the 8" reference sub for my office and it's also a stunner. Monoprice is really doing it right, and for a good price.

With proper placement subwoofers or any low frequency speakers are not affected by orientation. Example would be a down firing or passive radiator type.
So to answer no shouldn't matter. I will note this thing is very large I use it as a endtable

You can mount it, hang it, slide it sideways…. Do whatever you want. In the end is down to the acoustics of your room will dictate how it needs to go. This is not a device with a primary function of aesthetics.

As long as you are leaving some clear space in front of the woofer and the ports, I wouldn't hesitate to rotate it to make room for it. I would definitely choose that option over downsizing altogether.

They are front portes so ideally you want the ports facing outward. Also if you turn them to the side you will see the power and RCA cables.

Mostly just louder, they are both large subs the 10 will definitely be smaller in size for a bedroom but its still quite large at 73 pounds. Honestly depending on the size of the room etc I would go with an even smaller one, but that's just me as my bedroom is pretty small.

Yes, the M-12 is significantly louder. That said, even an M-10 will be overkill for a bedroom if the program source is just music. If you have an AV theatre in your bedroom then the M-10 would be an outstanding investment. Highly recommended

M-12 is louder (4db) with dual ports means more room pressure so you feel the base more.
M-13 is recommended for a room upto 3000 sqf.
M-10 is recommended for a room up to 2000 sqf.

I am considering adding/upgrading another sub to my 7.2.4 TX-RZ3100 system. My current front sub is an SVS 2000 Pro (12") and the rear is an older, mismatched Boston Acoustic (10"). They actually sound good together, but I want to add a little more oomph and balance. Will this Monolith 12 V2 give me similar performance and match-up as well as another SVS Pro2000? There is a significant price savings. I will be giving up the SVS's app adjustability but the receiver itself along with the unit should be suffixient.

Have tried A few Polks Klipsh and Bose… this one is way above all those… but again it’s not a real comparison. Buy the best Monoprice that you can afford and have space for. A friend of mine had twin 15inches and when you entered his house you just started feeling good… you know why… the sweet bass… that moved you and you felt it deep inside

I have a hardwood floor and used a small piece of carpeting under it. The sub is so massive (100 lbs), and the cabinet so rigid, that there is no vibration that would couple to the floor. The carpet allows you to slide the sub for adjustments, protects the floor, and minimizes any possibility of a buzz.

It’s probably looking for a signal…. Turn the sub on and crank the gain all the way up…. Give it a minute or two after you turn on your receiver for it to see the signal and you should be good…. Turn the gain down to where you want it after it’s up and running

BEST ANSWER: Why would it not be recommended to run a THX subwoofer in sealed? They sound fantastic sealed, but as in all sealed designs, there is a significant drop in output compared to running it in ported mode. I think you will find our ported subwoofers sound tighter than even other brands sealed subwoofers, if that's what you are looking for. The subwoofer has output down into 10Hz or better.

Love the sound quality, works perfect with my Klipsch RP-8060FA's. The sub completes my full surround system for watching movies. The only downfall is moving this thing, but I know it's built solid and will last me for decades to come. Great product!

Big sucker!
I'm diggin it! The sub I've been using for over a decade is a good sub. Works, never no problem & sounds good.... at least for a starter. But now,.....whoa what a difference. I wasn't realizing how much I was missing. For folks on a budget & want some good bass, this is a sub to look at. What tipped me toward this monolith subwoofer: a bit more watts (the svs I was checking only 325w rms), the THX certification & controls. The control lay out is less triggering for ocd issues, & just good & simple if you have lots of different settings between all your gear. And Of course, it doesn't sound too bad either. It is a big sucker though. I measured things out before I bought anything. And the size....kinda doesn't sink in until you see it for real. So be prepared for that. I absolutely think anyone who buys a monolith subwoofer will be happy. Just be sure to measure things out!!!! ????????

Serious punch
So happy with this sub. Picked this up while it was on sale and wow does it have some punch. Shakes the entire house. Brings you into the movie. I highly recommend.

Incredible! And incredibly BIG
This is an incredible subwoofer! The output is very solid and deep and easily fills my large theater room. It's not boomy at all. I haven't really tried it with music but I would expect it's very good in that role, too.
The build quality is very, very solid. It's a tank and beware, it's freaking huge! It's also heavy enough that you might need help moving it around the room and you for sure need 2 people or a hand truck to get it into the house.
If you have the space, I don't think you can do better than this for the money.
I've owned quite a few subs over the years. I still miss my Velodyne 1250x with a 12" driver and 15" down firing passive radiator. I currently run 2 SVS 2000 Pro sealed subs for my 2 channel music system. I believe those are superior for music as they are sealed and very quick. However, for theater use, it seems this Monolith is better, with more output and still very clean, solid bass.
I'm running both ports open and I don't think I will ever want a different theater sub unless I have to move to a smaller space.

Simply Amazing/Earth shattering.
The thunderous crisp bass is a game changer. The size is enormous, but worth the sound. You'll feel and hear bass in movies you didn't know existed. I wish I would have bought sooner than waiting to get one of these.

MONOLITH 12" THX V2
SO... We just moved into our new home and as I was unpacking and connecting my home theater components, I realized that the old Polk PW10s weren't going to fit the bill anymore. I tried running the Audyssey mic, thinking it may help... and nope. So I started looking around and stumbled across this gem. My wife then proceeded to tell me that we didn't need to spend any money on items that didn't need to be replaced. So, what was I to do? EASY! .I fudged the tuning on the PSW10 to make it sound like garbage and told her it was blown. Ordered the new monolith and now shes asking me how much longer I think the other PSW10 has... I LOVE MY WIFE.
These things are BEASTS. I know you keep hearing it but its true. I plan on getting another one here soon but I need to add a dedicated hometheater circuit to handle all the power.
Get one and dont look back. Sure glad I did!

Monolith M-12 v2 is a Beast!!!!!!!
After "coveting" these subs for about a year or so. I finally pulled the trigger and got them for a low $699.98 each!! I've never seen them at the price point so I had to have two of them. They were intended to replace my four Polk Audio psw505 subs. But I decided to keep all six in the mancave. I placed the Monoliths up front and the Polk Audios in the rear. All I can say is WOW! These Monoliths are just bass monsters. They not only put out bass you can hear but also feel! The Monoliths are definitively more capable subs and have a much greater bass output than my Polk 505s. They are definitely one of my favorite upgrades to the mancave thus far.

M-12-V2 12"inc
This sub was absolutely perfect for our 1000 square-foot rec/game room. I have it paired with the sevens by Klipsch for music!!!

Monolith 12" THX is awesome
What a great sub along with great value. My system ROCKS with this thing. I turned it off just to see how much it contributes and i could not live without it and I have high end speakers set to 80htz. As soon as they put them back on sale I am grabbing a second. Great job Monolith!
Love this sub!
