Would these safely stand Q Acoustics 3020i bookshelf speakers? The dimensions are: 11.1 (D) x 6.69 (W) x 10.94 (H)inches. The weight is 21.16 lbs. Thanks.

Id have to double check the dimensions but i would think this is a little big for your application. Their is probably a better option

yes they would, however the top plate of this stand is larger than your speaker I believe, hence you may want to consider that.

Can these stands be filled with a deadening material like sand or lead shot?
A shopper
on Feb 18, 2023
Sand cab easily be added to the two round columns. 4 holes on top and bottom. I used Play Sand or Beach Sand from Lowes. The holes on the bottom need to be sealed with some RTV sealant. I made a plastic round insert and RTV's it to the bottoms to insure no sand came
out on the bottom end. Filled with a small funnel...took 10 minutes to do a stand. Makes the stands very solid, well damped.

Sure can. The stands do not ship assembled. With the tubes being hallow one can fill them before assembling the top plate. Good stands, I like them!

Not really. While the upright are hollow metal tubes, they are capped on the end with a plate to support the bolts for the top and bottom plates

How do these compare to the other monolith steel speaker stands? Less sturdy, 2 pillars instead of four?

BEST ANSWER: Both are really sturdy, mostly an aesthetic choice.

My two-pole Monolith stands hold my 20 lb Ascend Acoustics Sierra 1 speakers with no problem with stability. I bought them because their upper plates were wider and longer than anything available at anywhere near the price. I cannot compare them to other Monolith stands as I have no experience with them. However, they are not fill-able, provide no cable routing, and the "adjustable level feature is useless for normal-size bookshelves.

I can only speak for these stands (mine are 18 inches high), the only Monolith stands I've purchased. They are extremely sturdy, stable and heavy, even heavier if you fill the columns with sand or some other material. I am putting a pair of Tekton Design Impact Monitors on them, and I especially appreciate the top plate dimensions, which are almost equal to the dimensions of the bottoms of the speakers.

I just have the 2 pillars ones, they're heavy and well built, they don't wobble at all. I have 2 bookshelf speakers laying on there sides on each one under my telescoping 65 inch TV, I didn't use the "bottom spikes" I just set them on the carpet, I don't think you can go wrong for the quality and the price, I would buy them again but hey I only need 1 set under my TV by my bed.

The stand does not have cable management. The stand can be filled with sand. It took less than 20 lbs to fill two stands.

I bought screw-in M8 rubber bumpers. They raised the stand ¼” or so.

Secure mounting Technique
I bolted my Revel Performa M105 and my B&W CM1 speakers to the stands:
1) Cut a piece of cardboard to match the top plate of the Monoprice speaker stands
2) Screw the carpet spikes into the bottom of one of the speakers
3) Push the piece of cardboard down onto the carpet spikes
4) Carefully remove the cardboard from the spikes
5) Place the cardboard on top of the Monoprice top plate and mark the position of the holes with a good sharp pencil
6) Drill the holes a little larger than the speaker bolts

Solid Stands, Look Great!
Love the stands, very stable and heavy. Before I purchased them, I read many owners filled them with sand. So before I received the stands I picked up a bag a sand. Once I assembled them and seen each post top and bottom, they are partially covered with a piece of steel so the bolt would screw into it. So I can't imagine anyone "FILLING" them with sand. My guess it would be extremely messy. Given the solid weight of the stand I don't see Any Need to fill them with sand. For the money you just can't beat the quality of this stand. Highly recommend! (without the Sand!)

Low cost stand
I have two Seas Dynaco A26 speakers on these sands. Filled with sand. Solid. Floor spikes go thru my carpet very well. Decent for the price. NOT MADE IN CHINA!

Sturdy design
The top plate could have had a bit bigger footprint for the tower speakers I have placed on the stands. I did not use the pegs in the rear to angle the speaker, opting to have the entire speaker base in contact with the top plate. Using the pegs caused stability issues with the towers. I plan to add some friction grip tabs on each corner. I am also considering screwing the speakers into the top plate. Overall, I am happy with the outcome and have the speakers at the correct height for surrounds. Some people had mentioned the stands ringing, but I have not had that issue.

perfect
Perfect height to get my heavy monitor speakers up to ear level and the relatively large top plate was the perfect size. Very sturdy welding and made in TAIWAN, not China. When assembling, a tap on the support tubes will give one a nice ringing sound, so I took the recommendation to fill the tubes with sand. That cured the ringing and added heft to the stands. Took about a third of a 50# sack of "Playsand" to fill them. Highly recommended as it's completely dry and very fine grain.

Works great easy to assemble
I have a fairly large center channel. Polk csi a6. I used this and used some screws to attach it. I think it works and looks great. Before I had just handmade a shelf, but this looks like it was meant to be.
