For the love of all that is good and decent in this world, is there any way...I MEAN ANY WAY (i'll open this up and resolder if i have to) that I can disable the mouse-traversal feature (mouse on the side of your screen switches devices...manual says it takes 2 seconds but it's more like .2 seconds)?

BEST ANSWER: I couldn't find a way to disable it, but I was able to retain my sanity by plugging my mouse into a FRONT USB 3.0 port which doesn't interface with the mouse emulation and therefore doesn't do the mouse traversal craziness.

For me SL+SL+f+l+a+s+h+ENTER disables the Mouse Traversal feature. The mouse is still plugged to the "Moue Port"

Enter a reply to Yesayi H.Surprisingly this worked for me as well! YAY!!
According to the manual though, that is supposed to set all settings to their default.
I don't see an option to actually turn Mouse Traversal on or off, so I am surprised this works. I wonder if performing it again, will enable Mouse Traversal.

I used the SL+SL+f+l+a+s+h+ENTER command and that may have disabled the mouse traversal mis-feature. Even after that, though, I encountered the strange situation where on a multi-monitor Mac, I could not scroll from one display to the other. I was able to fix that by plugging the keyboard and mouse into the front panel USB ports.

I share your frustration on this one. I have mine wired up like this:
* Back keyboard port -> Keyboard
* Back mouse port -> empty
* Front USB3a -> 4k webcam
* Front USB3b -> USB 3.0 hub -> keyboard, microphone
In other words, to "disable" the feature, I just unplugged the mouse from the mouse port. :)

Is there a way to configure this KVM to use DisplayPort v1.2 instead of 1.4?
Steve N
on Nov 13, 2022
BEST ANSWER: Displayport 1.4 (DP 1.4) is backwards compatible with DisplayPort 1.2 (DP 1.2). Just use a displayport 1.2 cable at least , a DP1.4 cable will also work just as easily but be a bit more expensive. Keep in mind that a DP 1.2 will not be as fast as a DP 1.4 --- IE 4K at 120Hz will not be possible .. but a DP 1.2 cable can easily do 4K@60Hz .. normal for most TVs and standard monitors. You will not usually notice the difference much with human eyes though.

Nice display port kvm.
Pros - I like the auto switching when you turn on a machine.
Cons - sometimes the monitor doesn't show anything so the unit has to be reset.

Works well with Samsung Odyssey G9 5120x1440@240hz
This works well with a Samsung 49-inch Odyssey G9, and supports the max resolution 5120x1440@240hz
Tested with:
Windows Desktop (GTX970)
Windows Laptop (Integrated Intel)
System 76 (PopOS / Linux)
Macbook M1
Here are some tips:
- My computers didn't detect the display's refresh rate at 240hz, just 120 or lower, so set you desired resolution on your machine and then go into the Samsung Monitor settings and change refresh rate to 240hz
- If you don't use 240hz, you will get a flickering on the video output on lower hz
- Use DisplayPort cables
- Use the front two USB ports to avoid the weird mouse switching issue
- The beeping is loud
- The lights are kinda bright, put some masking tape over it to make it less bright
- I bought USB-C to DisplayPort for the laptops, since that provides the best option for video quality
- I bought USB-C to USB-B (most newer laptops dont have USB-C), that's been working out fine

easy setup, comes with 3 usb cables, IR extender, remote, rack mounting ends, and AC (short power cord). I love everything about this KVM EXCEPT the mouse traverse, please give us a way to get rid of that 'feature' and this is easily the must buy KVM for anyone looking for 4to1 setups.

4.5 stars rounded up to 5
Works great with my setup: 4 devices - Win 10 PC desktop, Win 11 PC laptop, MacBook Pro, Linux laptop. I had to shop around for the DP and audio cables, and some USB 3.0 extenders (the OOB were a bit short for what I needed), connecting via DP port to 3 monitor linked via DP Daisy chain (2 ThinkVision @ 2560x1440 + 1 ViewSonic @ 1920x1080) - if the device's video card supports it.
The one minor issue, reported by others as well is the mouse traverse "feature", which in the daisy chain multi-monitor configuration I have is a big hassle as it won't allow the mouse to traverse the monitors. So, I had to get used to the idea that I'm losing a USB port (repurposed for the mouse).
If this could be "fixed" via a firmware update, I'll give 5 stars without hesitation.

Does the job, but has annoying "features"
This KVM does a good job of connecting multiple devices that use DisplayPort to a single DisplayPort or HDMI monitor. The mouse or keyboard can be plugged into the front USB ports if you want to avoid the "hot" functions.
There are two behaviors that really ruin this KVM...
The first is that the CONTROL key also acts as a hot switch key. This interferes when using CTRL-Click to select files. This can't be disabled.
The second is that when you turn a device on or off, the KVM will switch inputs. This would be OK if there was a way to disable this auto switching.

Perfect for Work at Home Setup
I have following setup hooked up to this
- Personal / Gaming PC
- Work laptop #1 - 90% use
- Work laptop #2 - 10% use
- Single 4K monitor
- Logitech wireless keyboard/mouse using USB Logitech Unifying Receiver
Pros:
- Displayport works as expected / full 4K on each machine.
- Flawless switching between machines using the physical buttons
- Can mute the switching audio. No, I really don't want a high powered screech to come over my microphone while on a conference call. Had that with past KVMs, this one can mute it!
- Price point. This is what a KVM should cost, not the $250+ nonsense with mixed reviews I've seen elsewhere.
Cons:
- Older speaker/microphone setup. Had to buy a handful of "3.5mm TRRS Male to Dual 3.5mm TRS Female Combo Audio Adapter" to make it compatible with newer hardware. Works with adapter no problem.
- Cables included are nice, but 6ft total in length. Had to buy a few 10ft. cables to make it work with my desk configuration. Power cord itself a bit short as well.
- Can't dim the lights on the KVM, they aren't super bright, but at night really don't want anything that bright.
- And sole reason for docking a star is due to inability to hot switch. The keyboard / mouse inputs on the back of the unit mostly work, expect when they don't. Example - running GoG.com games, front USB port, no problem, back keyboard/mouse, all sorts of weird issues.
Going to borrow another reviewers comment verbatim:
"
if I plug the mouse into one of the standard USB 3.0 ports, all is well, except for the fact that the switching features triggered by the mouse are not available and I have a wasted a USB port (the dedicated mouse port does not function as a standard USB port).
"
Minor inconvenience to physically press the buttons to switch, but docking one star all the same because can't hot switch. Wish they had the same USB ports in the back - would fix issue and give five stars.

All reviews here have the "mouse locked to screen" issue wrong
So, the mouse "screen locking" on a multi-monitor setup. People apparently don't get the intended function.
The intended function of this device: If I track my mouse off to the right of the screen, it switches the display, peripherals, and sound to the corresponding next computer. If I track it to the left edge of the screen, it switches the display, peripherals, and sound to the previous.
When using two computers on two separate monitors(DP cables plugged directly into the monitors, not into the KVM switch), the KVM treats them as "I track the mouse off the screen, it switches to the previous/next machine". For that purpose, it seems as if it "locks" the mouse to the single display of one machine. Tracking from one monitor to another actually flawlessly switches the input from one computer to the other, WHILE MAINTAINING THE POSITION ON THE SCREEN EDGE.
Meaning: If I have one computer set up on my left monitor, plugged into port one, and a second computer set up on my right monitor and plugged into port two, and I push my mouse to the right edge of the left screen 2/3 of the way up, it will resume the mouse at the same corresponding position(2/3 of the vertical) on the left screen, which is a different computer. That's what this is meant for. Not multi-monitor setups on the same machine. If you want a multi-monitor setup on the same machine, no point buying this. Just get a peripherals KVM or a 4x2 KVM and not this.
I am currently running this on a double Ultrawide setup(two monitors at 3440x1440 UWQHD with my personal computer on the left monitor and my work computer on the right monitor. Switching between the two is flawless. I track my mouse to the right edge of my personal computer and it switches all inputs to the work computer with maybe a single millisecond of delay - barely noticeable. When using a single monitor and having both computers' DP cables plugged into their respective sockets, it switches the screen & inputs instantly when I track off-screen. I highly recommend this product for anyone running a multi-machine setup - NOT a multi-monitor setup(this is a very niche market. You may not need it unless you have several machines that you need to use at the same time).
In regards to the mouse tracking scaling changes that a lot of people are referring to: I play a lot of FPS games and MOBA games, and as such, am very sensitive to when my DPI is being messed with. I have not had any problems at all with the mouse being plugged into the intended "mouse port: on the back of the KVM vs the USB peripherals ports on the front.
TL;DR if you want to run multiple machines on multi-monitor setups, buy a 2x2(2 devices, two outputs) KVM switch - not even sure if these exist - and not this one, which is a 4x1(four devices, two outputs).
I personally love it, but it's a very niche buy.

So far pretty good
switching works well. There is some funkiness with the mouse and keyboard though-plugging the same mouse and keyboard in to the computers directly works fine, but when I use the builtin ports on the switch the tracking and keyboard don't work as well (the mouse tracks differently, and the tracking speed adjustments don't affect it, and the keyboard isn't as responsive for basic things like typing). I also get some feedback through my speakers, but I haven't isolated that yet (and it's not a deal breaker for sure).
So- fine for admin stuff, but I wouldn't use one to run a gaming machine through.
