Is there a way to disable the mouse traverse or extend the time required to switch?

BEST ANSWER: There is no option to disable the mouse traverse. However, the special mouse features only activate on the "mouse" port, so you can connect a mouse to the USB3 port and the mouse feature will not activate.

I did it by not using the designated mouse port. I plug the mouse into one of the front ports. In fact, I just use the front ports for mouse and keyboard.

The users guide that has a link on this page lists 5 methods for switching between computers.
1. use the manual front panel buttons
2. Us an IR remote control. I don't see anywhere that there is a remote included with this product.
3. Mouse Traverse by moving the cursor to the right side of the screen
4. USB Port detection.
5. Hotkey selection
The only method of switching that I am interested in is hotkey selection. So does this product perform according to the user's manual?

Multiple ways - 1) a button on the switch , 2) an IR remote control, 3) hotkeys on keyboard, 4) mouse movement to far right of screen.

Does this provide EDID information to both computers at all times(avoid flickering and window resizing when you switch )?
A shopper

BEST ANSWER: No, I believe the answer is no, here is my experience.
With Windows 10 21H1, when two monitors are connected to a computer using Extend desktop mode, with one of those monitors running through this switch, when the switch changes inputs, away from that computer, it's like unplugging the screen from that computer and all open apps and Windows jump to the other screen not connected to the switch. When you use the switch to switch back to that initial computer all the open windows and apps jump to the switched screen. Extended desktop mode is restored and everything works normally.

Can this KVM carry audio via Display Port?
A shopper
on Nov 16, 2022
BEST ANSWER: Hey! I'm using this KVM with a RTX 3080 on one DP input and a work laptop with some embedded graphics using USB-C to TB wire to connect to the KVM. With that setup I see the monitor that I've plugged in Windows as an output device and specifically for you I plugged headphones to the screen to confirm that I'll hear the sounds. Yep it 100% works via the KVM the sound goes over Display Port. I did use DP 1.4 compatible wires everywhere. My monitor only has stereo output so it only shows as stereo, so I can't confirm 5.1 but I don't see why that wouldn't work.

I'm not able to get any video when connecting to my DVI monitor using a passive DP to DVI cable (gpu is connected to kvm with DP 1.4 cable). Does this KVM require an active DP to DVI adapter in this situation?

Will there be a firmware update coming soon? I have an issue with my Lenovo Thinkpad being connected to the KVM. When I am connected, the Intel Audio Driver doesn't seem to play sound through the HDMI. I have to use the speakers on the laptop which uses my Realtek driver. I have an 8.5gen T590 running a Core i7-8565U. I also have this issue on my work computer which is an 8th gen X1 Carbon running i5-10210U and it behaves the same way. Any assistance with this would be greatly appreciated. The KVM provides the necessary workflow I need because I run a USB hub into the front port and use the remote for switching. Other than the sound issue, the workflow has been great, but the speakers on the laptop are small and don't have the best audio quality. Thank you in advance for your help.

Works 95% of the time
The switch buttoms on teh front are very handy. The size is acceptable. The ONLY issue Ive had is using a logitech dongle and it switching correctly every time. I switch at least 5-8 times a day. At least one of those switch times, I either have to turn the mouse off\on, or switch the PC's a few times through the button. It does work most of the time but it can be annoyiong at times. I have tried all the usb ports and keyboard\mouse ports.
That being said I will keep this switch. The display and keyborad so far, have switched every time.

Almost perfect.
Overall this is a great unit. Does the high end DisplayPort video really well for monitors that support high end graphics with high end gaming graphics cards.
The only two problems are:
If you have a gaming mouse which needs a profile pushed to it whenever you switch computers, you have to plug that mouse into USB on the front of the unit rather than the back. It doesn?t work when the gaming mouse is plugged into the rear USB port.
And the two buttons on the front to switch sources are a bit tough to see. I?d rather those two buttons were light gray instead of black.
Also, it would be really nice if they putt a switch button right on top of the IR unit to toggle between the two sources rather than having to always find the IR remote.

Supports switching to PCs that have gone to sleep
I was excited to see a Displayport 1.4 KVM switch with USB 3.0 for under $100 that is supported by a company in the US. I wanted a switch that supports 144Hz and Gsync. I'm happy to report this one does that.
This being said, I really picked this switch because Monoprice told me it would support the ability for PCs to wake up when I switch back to them after they've gone to sleep. Switches at this price point generally do not do this.
When the switch arrived, I confirmed that it does somehow manage to pull this off - PC wakes up, as they said it would. (There is no mention of this feature in the product literature.) All was great until...
I started playing games.
The mouse was not functional (limited range of motion) and the KVM switch would switch to the other PC on it's own. When I contacted Monoprice, they suggested getting a replacement. The replacement did the same thing.
I continued troubleshooting on my own and determined the mouse port on the switch (there are dedicated keyboard and mouse ports to provide some pretty cool switching functions) is flaky. In fact, my mouse software would not recognize the mouse, if plugged into that port. However, if I plug the mouse into one of the standard USB 3.0 ports, all is well, except for the fact that the switching features triggered by the mouse are not available and I have a wasted a USB port (the dedicated mouse port does not function as a standard USB port). Hence, the reason for 4 stars instead of 5.
All-in-all, I'm really happy with the switch so far, predominantly because it supports waking the PCs. However, the keyboard commands to switch PCs (i.e. no need to use IR remote) are a big plus.

Frustrating to say the least
First the mouse tracking change is intolerable. Tracking seems to be based on letterbox ratio somehow. My mouse tracks three times speed left to right as up to down.
Second, the selector buttons on the front do nothing but switch the little blue LED that is lit from one to the other. It tries to do some slick thing that when you hit one edge of the screen. This does not even come close to working so you are forced to wait while your input is ignored and the screens flash.
The KVM task is simple. Switch my screen and input between devices. The protocol should be implemented so that the display information is always sent to the computer to keep the new display event from firing every time I switch.
If you want kvm that functions avoid this item.
