I am looking to assemble speakers for my Atmos system, but the geometry of my room means that up-firing atmos-enabled speakers will not work. If I get the 460Ts for my FL/LR channels, is there a good set of speakers that are matched for Surround L/R and Surround Rear L/R that do not have Atmos up-firing speakers?

BEST ANSWER: You would still want to get the THX bookshelf speakers and just not utilize the upfiring atmos driver. This wy, all the speakers will be sonically matched and THX certified.

what is the power rating of the speakers?

BEST ANSWER: I believe 300 watts RMS at 4 ohms. These speakers love power! Based on my own practical experience, I’ve loaded 200+ Watts RMS into one of the speakers with headroom to spare and they still sounded clean with no distortion. That said, I’d never want to do that as a matter of routine because of the loudness of the volume.
