Can you add a longer cable between the surround speakers?
anthony a
on May 31, 2022
BEST ANSWER: Yes, each end of the wire plugs into each speaker individually. You can splice in more wire or you can purchase a longer wire with male plugs on each end.
I can not comment on the quality of the sound but, I assume it would be ok as you can run very long runs for other speakers and still have good quality sound as long as the gage of the longer wire is thicker wire.

Yes, I needed the same. But please make sure you add 2 5 mm audio plugs on bith ends or get adapters for a standard 3.5 mm plug.

I don’t see why you couldn’t but you’d have to find an after market new cable or find a female to male extension.

I can barely hear the surround speakers, is there anyway I can turn the volume up on just those speakers?
A shopper
on Sep 6, 2023
BEST ANSWER: If you look at the remote, there is a button 2nd from the bottom called Surround Volume. That can be used to increase or decrease the volume of the surround speakers. However, the surround volume is highly dependent on which EQ setting you have the soundbar set to. Some EQ settings like movie and music will be louder than voice or sports. Good luck

You can turn up the surround volume button located under the EQ button. It goes up to 5. It will make them louder, but it resets to 0 when you turn the system off and then back on, so you will have to reset them to your preferred level each time you turn the system on.

Do the satellite speakers connect to the sub?

More specifically, the right surround speaker pairs wirelessly separate from the subwoofer; the left surround speaker is wired to the right one. Thus, sub placement is not constrained by the surrounds as with some competing soundbars.

It appears from reading the manual page 12 "manual pairing" that the main surround speaker and the sub woofer both establishes a wireless connection with the soundbar.

I would say yes since you need CEC for e/ARC to work, which this soundbar is advertised as having. That said, CEC is always a bit of a gamble between devices.

Poor sound, poor usability
I've used a lot of Monoprice in-wall speakers for home theater applications and always been happy, so I was excited to check out this soundbar. Unfortunately, this soundbar + subwoofer has some serious flaws that led to me returning the item:
1) Fatally poor sound quality - Sounded thin/tinny in all sound modes, despite the subwoofer functioning.
2) Bright, always-on status display - the front panel of the soundbar has a bright display that is impossible to dim. In a bright room, it's annoying. In a dark room, it's insanely bright. I ended up putting a piece of electrical tape over that area of the soundbar, though you have to be careful with tape placement, because the IR sensor is located just to the left of the bright display.
3) No settings "memory" - Every time you turn on the unit, it's like the first time. Volume always resets to a slightly-too-loud default. Maybe fun for people who enjoy surprises, but I've personally never run into an audio system that can't remember its previously set volume through a power cycle.
4) Quiet rears with no ability increase gain.
I replaced this unit with a similarly-priced name-brand soundbar, and the quality difference was night and day.

For the Money, Good Value
Overall, very pleased, especially for the price. The bar speaker and subwoofer perform well, and the bass is actually really good for an 8" speaker. I love how easy it is to switch from Bluetooth to Aux/TV on the remote. Great value for the money. I would give it 5 stars if it were not for the satellite speakers. They are not very loud, and I really cannot even tell they are there. I am not a huge movie buff, so that is not a huge deal.

Not worth the price
The soundbar and subwoofer deliver impressive audio performance, but I'm disappointed with the functionality of the two back speakers.
The soundbar produces clear and crisp audio. The subwoofer delivers deep bass. The setup process was fairly easy with straightforward instructions.
The two back speakers on the other hand barely contribute to the surround sound experience. Their output is so faint that it's barely noticeable. Despite adjusting settings and re-positioning the speakers I heard no improvement.
Overall, while the soundbar and subwoofer combination delivers impressive audio quality, the disappointing performance of the two back speakers significantly diminishes the overall value and immersive experience of the system.

Exactly as Advertised
The system was easy to set up. Bass is full and tight, not muddy. Soundbar generates clear dialog and good L/R sound. Surrounds are not loud enough, IMO. Atmos effect from soundbar is effective, but perhaps a little quiet. Hope MP makes a 5.1.4 system (Atmos surrounds) soon!

Quality Sound/Good Value
Item was delivered on-time, undamaged, as advertised.
Produces a quality surround sound.
I was disappointed when I found it would NOT integrate with my Denon AVR-S570BT as I had hoped it would. That's on me as I didn't "get" that it independently handles the Audio via HDMI and NULLIFIES the AVR speaker outputs.
As a result, I moved it from my MAIN system in the Living Room to my Bedroom system. It is my other Dell Laptop and Insignia 24" display. I'm struggling to use Dolby Atmos for Home on my Dell Laptop for some reason. I'll eventually figure it out.
Other than SOURCE INPUT selection & EQ, there are few options; NO force surround option is a loss if the SOURCE type is ONLY Stereo. EQ isn't, it is only TONE control of Treble & Bass +/-, no Frequency/Amplitude control.
My cheap BestBuy Insignia 24" Display is not eArc compatible, so I don't have that control feature available, but that is no fault of this Monoprice system.
All-in-All, I'm happy with it.
Once I figure out how to make the Browser Video Playback & PC/VideoLan Playback send the proper signals to the Soundbar via HDMI, I'll be content. But, that 24" display will NOT last long in my Bedroom.
