If my memory is correct, it's for a pair of speakers. And they sound great for our application, background music in our salon.

I wondered the same thing. Each item is a "pair", so 2 speakers per item. For what it's worth, they have been great for me!

What diameter does the hole need to be for the 5.25" and 6.5"? My ceiling is already cut out.

The hole is slightly less than the measurement of the speaker. There is a template that comes with it and I'm out of town or I would give you an exact. It might be in the manual if you can find that online.

The hole in my ceiling was already cut out at 7” so the 5.25” speakers fit almost perfectly.

Are these speakers suitable for an Atmos setup? Atmos requires a wide dispersion.
A shopper
on Mar 7, 2018
These have good dispersion however, keep in mind that the H.F. dispersion cone is totally dependent on your ceiling height. The higher the ceiling, the wider the cone over the seating area.
Low and mid frequencies will be good in all scenarios.

I am looking to use these for front and rear Atmos speakers and one channels above the ceiling has a heating duct running between the joists about 3" above the sheetrock. Both the 4102 and 4103 have a mounting depth listed as about 2.9", or 73mm. Am I correct in assuming that there would be about 2.4" of speaker above my 1/2" sheetrock?
Timothy J B
on Jan 20, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes, the back of the bezel to the back of the magnet is 2.9" you sheetrock will eat in to that and leave you with 2.4" of speaker in the ceiling.

In deciding whether to use this for Atmos on my low ceiling (8 feet), what is the maximum angle that I can adjust the tweeter?
New User U
on Apr 2, 2019
Going off the eye ball test, I would say between 10-15 degrees of angle adjustment.

Specs show the 6 zone controller can handle 100 RMS watts bridged or 50W RMS per channel. But what is the "peak" power it can handle? For example, it seems like I should be able to use (2) Caliber 6.5-in (50W RMS each) in one zone but will it handle their 100W ea peak power without issue too?

Monoprice Caliber In-Ceiling Speakers, 5.25in Fiber 2-Way (pair)
Monoprice 6-Zone Home Audio Multizone Controller and Amplifier Kit, NO LOGO
BEST ANSWER: The amp will under power the Caliber speakers. the amp is 25W per channel stereo at 8Ω RMS while the speakers are 50W RMS at 8Ω. You can bridge the amp to put full power into each speaker but you will only be able to one speaker on each zone. Bridge mode on the amp is 50W RMS at 8Ω. The power is a bit mismatched however we have sold thousands of these systems with Caliber speakers and have received very few complaints about sound or volume. If you need more power for a zone you can use the RCA line outs on each channel to drive a larger amp like one of our Unity series 1/2 rack amps, available in 100W, 200W, and 450W. These are 2ch amps for stereo use and they are also bridgeable.

Has anyone used these in a wall. Would these work equally well placed in-walls for a home theatre room?

I have 6 5.25in Fiber 2-Way Product # 4102 speakers connected in parallel 3 on left channel and 3 on right channel on a 200w amp. This in probably not the best way to do this but it has been working fine for a couple of years. I need to add 6 more of these speakers to my system. I am looking for suggestions as to what amp I would need to get all 12 speakers connected and whether I need to wire parallel or in series. Just need mono sound, this is just background music for small business?

Can we get a mounting bracket for a lay in ceiling application for the 4102 speaker. The ceiling tile is fiberglass and we need something substantial for the mounting?

Great for the price
Very easy to install. Replaced speakers that were installed when house was built. They do need to be broken in by using for 40 hours or so. Speakers sound ?tight? initially and noticeably better after broken in. For $20 a speaker, it?s a no brainer.

Excellent rear surround speakers
I needed two rear surround speakers to complete my 7.1 home theater. Knowing that they did not have to be powerful, I went with the in-ceiling Caliber speakers mounted into the rear wall. They sound wonderful and complement my other Monoprice speakers perfectly.

Used to upgrade fron 25w RMS to 50 RMS
Bought these speakers to upgrade my 25 watt RMS speakers for my surround sound system. Cutout dimensions stated on the website were not correct. My cutout was 6 5/8 and these require a 7" diameter cutout. The templet sent with the speakers measure 7". If I knew I had to enlarge the holes I would have went with the 6.5". Instrucktions state to have 60 hours of use for the break in period. so I am about 1/3 of the way there. The sound is very good for a small speaker and sounds way better than my old ones. They handle way more power and fill my 25 x 30 room with quality sound. I would recommend these speakers..

Perfect fit
The previous owner of my house had holes cut in the ceiling and wiring run but never put speakers in. These speakers were the only ones that would fit in those locations so I gave them a shot, they work beautifully with my old receiver. I added a center channel and subwoofer to complete the 5.1 setup and could not be happier.

Nice Look
I had an internal conflict in deciding what was best to install, the traditional speakers or ceiling speakers.
I installed this speakers in my family room, I love how nice and clean they look, they match the rest of the crown moldings and look elegant.
The sound is also very good for the 12 x 16 room that they are being used in.
So far they are meeting my expectations quite well. JM
