BEST ANSWER: Yes, you are able to split this two monitors or four monitors. In the multi window settings from the main page you can choose two or four splits. Do keep in mind that your computer has two video outputs. Otherwise you can't use the functionality. In case of a two monitor set up, the monitor needs a separate input from one side and another input from another side so the it tricks the monitor/computer to show two displays.

Yes. The monitor supports a Multi-Window mode that allows the monitor to support up to 4 physical inputs. I often use the two-window mode to support an older laptop (work) that cannot drive the full resolution of the monitor but can drive the full resolution if it is split across HDMI and Displayport.

BEST ANSWER: Jonathan - unless you have an updated video card that can handle 5120 x1440 you will not get the full use of the screen. I just bought this on 11/6/2020 and it is connecting to a laptop. I had to get a WavLink DisplayLink 5K universal docking station to drive the resolution needed to make it work full screen. Using this device I have to use both display ports at the same time, but works beautifully. Most likely this is why Monoprice include two display cables in the box. If you are using a laptop this is the only way I know to get it to work, using both display ports at one time. One Display port and one HDMI will not work, nor will two HDMI cables from a laptop.
If you are using a PC with a modern video card check what resolution it will support and see if the manufacture has a driver update. If your current video card has two display ports then it may be as simple as plugging both display ports into the monitor like I had to do and then adjusting the resolution. Only the most up to date video card (last 6-8 month) allow driving this size monitor with a single cable.
If you do not have display ports try plugging in two HDMI cables in between Video Card and Monitor. I have seen others do this but it really is dependent on your video card if they allow this configuration.

I had the same initial issue and found out that my HDMI cables weren’t version 2+ So, they couldn’t support the full native resolution. I would double check that it isn’t a cable, first.

BEST ANSWER: No there is not a remote with this monitor. If you are going to use this with two different PC's then I would suggest looking a KVM switch that could be used (and supported by resolution) to navigate between the two. I myself find the buttons are not that complicated to use in selecting an input source.

It's not a deal breaker because I only switch once or twice a day, but even if I needed to switch regularly where would you find this blend of features and price for this specific size?

Is this display capable of picture-by picture from two sources? i.e., is it possible to treat the monitor as two 2560x1440 displays (which most computers are capable of driving) or does it have to be a single connection with a 5120x1440 output (which requires a very high end graphics card)?

Yes, you are able to treat this as two 2560 x 1440 displays. You can enable this using the multi window option available in the Monitor's menu setting. To run this monitor as two displays you need two sources of input. I use a RX 580 to run this at two 2560x1440 displays using a eGPU.

From reading the specs I suspect so. Mainly because it has two of both it's input sources. i.e. 2XDP and 2XHDMI. If it didn't have PBP, then there would be no need for dual inputs for those two sources.

Yes. I had wondered if it could allow a USB headphone to output sound transmitted through the Nvidia audio, but it didn't. I _can_ however use it to charge a mobile device/tablet (Note 5 and Amazon Fire 7) -- so that's what it's doing for me atm. I haven't tried to figure out what amps it's putting out, but it's definitely not enough to power my Samsung dual Qi charging unit.

5120x1440p is about 11% less pixels than 4k, and macOS supports higher refresh rates natively, so theoretically yes. The intel 655 in my 13" MBP states it's maximum res via DisplayPort is: 4096x2304@60Hz
I just ordered the monitor today, so I will update here when I get it. I have several macs across several generations I will try it out with.

A KVM switch capability is a device which allows multiple computers to share a single display, keyboard, mouse, and in some versions the audio and usb ports,. That's not usually a feature of a monitor but of a separate box as it requires a forest of cable connections to accomplish. Look them up here on Monoprice to see the amount of cabling and connectors to accomplish that. Why would a manufacturer do that for a fringe product like KVM capability and raise the production cost and thus price to the buyer.
According to the specs, this monitor will support 4 video input sources consisting of two Display Port 1.2 sockets and two HDMI 2.0 sockets. That means that 4 devices, perhaps a computer, and either two game consoles, or a game console and a video streaming device could likely be connected, each using it's own keyboard or joystick, or game pad or remote control. You only need a KVM if you want to share a single keyboard, Mouse, and video output among multiple computers who then output only one of the computer's video outputs to the monitor. If that's your scenario, single keyboard, and mouse driving multiple computers, with only one selected for display at any moment then you need a KVM switch capability. If you're going to connect different kinds of equipment like a computer, a gaming console with separate controllers, and a set top box with a remote control then you can select which one is talking to the monitor with the monitor's own video source selection capability. As the other answer says, the usb port is for accessories like chargers or perhaps USB memory sticks for displaying pictures or updating firmware.

BEST ANSWER: The manual states an unspecified 4ms response time. The monitor uses the same panel as the Samsung CRG9 which has a GTG response time of 4ms.

Almost a great monitor, not going to work for me.
I tried to use it with a 2020 MacBook Air (intel) and could not get the resolution to work correctly. Using one HDMI cord, I could only get a middle section of the monitor to display, with black bars on the sides. Tried manually changing the resolution in Preferences, and changed settings on the monitor, to no avail. Finally got the monitor to work by setting it as PbP and using two HDMI cords (essentially using this one monitor as two separate monitors, which also uses two inputs which are already in short supply on my MacBook Air).
In addition to that, the monitor arrived with a small crack in the upper left corner, and the display has a dark smudge on the left side of the screen which is obvious when displaying something very light like a white background. For all of those reasons, I will be returning the monitor. For the price, if I had gotten an undamaged monitor that played nicely with my laptop, I would have been very pleased.

Excellent Gem!
Excellent monitor. I like single connection for weekends and double monitor for weekdays. Only thing I would wish for above is a remote control, other that that perfect product~

Can’t beat 1yr pixel perfect warranty no other 4k monitor in this size I saw had it
To make a long review short, there’s no better option if you are looking for 4k monitor for the price. Don’t worry with packaging it’s very safe my box had quite a few dings but everything works perfectly. If you edit in 4k then this is even better than Samsung g9 with the curve not being as drastic.

True Love For Tab Hoarders
I love this monitor. I came from 3x 1440p screens and this is simply better. In-use, it feels like more real estate than three monitors ever did.
Sure there are a couple annoyances like the button presses and lack of support on certain graphics setups (looking at you Linux with Intel built-in graphics, and you out-of-the-box MacOS ), but once you have the right mix of driver, cable (prioritize display > hdmi) , and platform this really is like living the dream.
I finally finally have more screen than I know what to do with and that is something so rare and pure and amazing that every morning I feel lucky that this object exists and it was affordable enough to buy.
Use case: lots of tabs and windows on a vesa arm which strains under the heft. I use this with a desktop and 2 different laptops. Windows, Linux, and macOS.

I'd give it 0 stars if I could
I ordered this monitor because it has a Samsung panel in it but apparently the electronics that drive it are cheaply made. Within 3 hours of hooking it up the entire left side was full of vertical banding that would randomly change. Sometimes it would go away for a little while but then it came back and eventually it got stuck with the banding. I did an RMA to replace it and the new monitor has been here for just 1 day and the left side is again showing vertical banding. Not nearly as bad as the first one, but it's there and easily noticeable. Spend a little more and get a genuine Samsung monitor. I'm sending it back for a refund.

This is an image from the first monitor. I tried different cables and inputs and nothing fixed it.

Awesome monitor for CAD workstation
This is only day one with this monitor but I am blown away by it. I am driving it with a Quadro M4000 card and it came up with the 5120X1440 resolution as the system powered up. I am using FancyZones as part of the free Windows PowerToys to keep Inventor mainly centered with my Teams chat really narrow on the left and my database with a little more room on the right. I was using dual 4k monitors (27" and 32") and this feels like more desktop space. I recommend this for anyone currently using two monitors, it is a gamechanger! (just make sure your computer can drive it)
