What is the USB dongle for?

BEST ANSWER: If you're asking about the microUSB piece that connects to the bottom of the monitor, that's a light that projects a logo down onto your desk beneath the monitor. I personally unplugged mine because I didn't like it.

If you're talking about the little cylinder with the USB on the back, plug it in near the rest of the hdmi / dp inputs and it'll project the dark matter logo on your desk.

Your question lacks the info to give a proper answer. Does your video card support the resolution wanted at 144Hz? Is it a game that you are trying to get 144Hz in? Does the games support it? Does Windows allow for 144Hz? When you are asking for MPRT are you asking about response time?

I know that windows supports 144hz and my game does. My computer is a gaming laptop with a 144hz screen built-in. To answer the question about my GPU running the resolution of the monitor at 144hz, no it wouldn't be able to. My main question would be why windows 10 sees the onboard display as 1920x1080 @ 144hz but it sees this screen as 3440x1440 @ 59hz. I am seeing this in advanced display settings of windows itself. I just figured that windows would at least recognize the maximum hz possible even if it couldn't reach that because the computer isn't powerful enough.
It's not really a windows thing. The ability to drive a display is based on the GPU and driver.
WIndows will only display what the driver is capable of doing. Since the GPU knows it can do 1920x1080@144 it shows that and same logic for 3440x1440@59Hz. The driver knows that it can't do 3440x1440@144Hz so it will not display that as a choice.

You need to use the display port adapter to get 144Hz/free-sync. If your video adapter doesn't have display port you will not be able to do this.

To those who have this monitor, can you take a picture of how low the height adjustment allow this monitor to go? I like to purchase this but wondering if I need a standalone stand for this.

Love it. It’s big and looks great. So far no issues in the couple weeks I’ve had it

Excellant monitor all around.
I use this monitor for graphics editing, video production, and occasional gaming. I've had it for about one year and have no complaints about its quality or operation.
The one thing I would say is the instructions could be a bit more detailed, for instance I recieved a small optical lens attachment with the monitor seemingly for projection??? but I can find no documentation on it or how to use it. Inspection of the monitor has not yielded any obvious connection points either. Its not a big deal but if it would be nice to know what it was for and how to use it.

Fantastic MOnitor
This is a really great monitor. I had no dead pixels, and no issues whatsoever. Shipped really quickly. After adjusting the settings some it works great. Only issue is that the menu is a little slow to navigate, but its not a huge issue. The monitor also pairs very well with Monoprice's gas arm monitor stand.

Fantastic monitor
My husband is in love with this monitor. It has a super clear, crisp, and sharp picture even with fast motion games. The curved screen is perfect and make his games super immersive.

Dual monitor set-up to one
Fantastic monitor for the price. I had 2 28” monitors before I bought this. I’ll never go back to a 2 monitor set-up.

What more do you need ?
Absolutely love this thing.
Bright & crisp image, substantial extra screen room for peripheral vision in an FPS is a huge tactical advantage as well.
I have played a wide variety of games , Warzone, Civilization , & Sekiro, and they have all looked great in their own way. This monitor is the first and last gaming screen you should buy.

Dual monitor standing desk setup — plus use monitor buttons to get features working.
The first hiccup is that there is no driver. The generic monitor works welll but you need to use the buttons on the monitor to get the Radeon functions to be recognized. Easy once you realize this solution.

A pair of monitors.

Blur and response time not that great.
Coming from a 60hz IPS with no free sync I was expecting to be blown away by the motion handling of this monitor. In reality, fast moving objects are not any clearer than my old monitor. In fact when moving around window on the desktop, text is even more blurry than my old monitor and completely unreadable until you stop moving the window. In games, at 144fps, it does feel more fluid when moving, but I am not able to see fast moving enemies any clearer then before. Freesync is great however and I do enjoy the improved smoothness of movement, also the colors and contrast blow away my old monitor.
All in all, this monitor is great for pretty graphics, smooth motion and productivity. Just don't expect razer sharp detail on fast moving objects. For that, a more e-sports oriented monitor with better pixel response times would be preferable.

It looks nice, too bad I can't use it.
This was my first purchase from monoprice, I looked at the specs and the cost and was immediately skeptical. However, the reviews seemed okay, so I went for it. The monitor came in and the stand was completely defective and on top of that I was missing instructions, vesa screws and some parts of the stand. Seems like a pretty sloppy mistake for something with that high of a price tag. Would not recommend, I just hope when the stand comes in I dont run into any dead pixel problems like some other reviewers have and if I do im going to get a refund and not waste any more time with this company.

Dead pixels on three different monitors
Since 11-16-2020, I have had to RMA the 34" model THREE TIMES (processing takes weeks). I received the third, defective monitor today. I am going to return this last one permanently for a refund. Do not waste your money or time, dear reader.
