BEST ANSWER: You can if you put inside another pipe. Not recommended. Just buy the cable that rated burial outdoor.

My understanding is it is NOT rated for direct burial. I ran mine thru a 3/4 PVC conduit underground. I see no reason why you couldn't use it as direct burial as long as you waterproof your terminations.

why is there 4 wires in the bundle ?

BEST ANSWER: This wire is useful to run a single wire from an amplifier to a wall volume control. Two wires for the stereo left channel and two wires for the right channel. Then you run a 2-conductor wire from the volume control to the left speaker and another to the right speaker.

I ran the 4 strand for speaker (on/off/volume) switches in separate areas of my system. Since I control all of those functions with my phone app I used the 4 strand for my left and right channels. You can run a 4 strand wire instead of separate wires for the speakers.

Can this type of wire be used for an outdoor system? Thinking of running under ground in PVC pipe ..

BEST ANSWER: I'm doing the same thing, except running it above ground inside a heavy duty drip line hose that was the wrong size for anything else, then use shrink tube when it attaches to the speakers. Been working well for about a year ... so far so good.

BEST ANSWER: It depends. If the speakers are somewhat permanently installed, flying from a pipe, or mounted to a wall, yes this is good wire for that. If you mean something like wedge monitors or something else that is portable and set up and torn down regularly, I think that an SO grade cable is better suited.

BEST ANSWER: I'm not an expert but the CL2 rated cable jacket/insulation is rated up to 150 volts. A CL3 rated jacket is rated up to 300 volts. Hope this helps.

My go-to for all speaker needs
Probably an overkill, but I like getting this stuff and doubling two wires for mains. For other speakers, this is great because you're only running one wire.

Very excellent quality wire. Very smooth and soft jacketing, making it very easy to pull in a waterfall formation. Couldnt be happier with the product. Nice spools and professional packing, will recommend to anyone looking for a similar product.

This is a quality speaker wire, easy to use and flexible. 4 conductor in one casing, great for stereo pairs. I used this for a whole house audio install and it made it so easy. Would definitely use again.
