Is the opening big enough that a regular size extension cord fit through this?

BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. It should be able to fit a 2 or 3 prong extension cord through it. Please note that running power cables through the walls would violate electrical codes and we would advise against it. It is recommended to have a power outlet installed near the device you wish to power.

About how many cat 5e cables would fit through the 1 and 2 gang versions of this?

Embarrassing, but have to ask. I have one of these installed with and HDMI and a fiber optic cable run through it. The problem is--it is a gigantic port for the occasional roach to crawl through. Is there any kind of flexible plug or material suitable for plugging up the remaining space in this unit?

Good product, bad price
I like these and have used them a lot in the past, but the new price is double what I paid in the past. I can get similar product from local distributor for $3.00.

Works great for my installation of a flat screen TV. Installed these behind the TV and the cabinet below it to allow all the wiring needed to connect the TV and keep all the wiring hidden inside the wall.

Good Option
My company has been using these for a very long time. Eliminates the extra wall plate connection directly behind the equipment. Be sure to order the cables extra long especially if your wall mount articulates.
