? I am also curious on the height of the base. Need to know how much clearance a piece of furniture in front of it needs to have so the base can slide under it.

BEST ANSWER: I just measured mine and from the floor to the top of the base I show 13/16th of an inch so just under 7/8 of an inch thick is what I show. So it will fit under a pretty low piece of furniture. And in fact I have mine up under a dresser that sits low to the floor and it easily clears. This way the TV sits just above the dresser. It's a nice way to avoid mounting on the wall if you dont want to do that. If you hae at least one inch of clearance under your furniture you should have no issues with it fitting.

Base is approximately inch from ground and slides under most cabinets with the backside cutout. Very stable. We actually don’t use the shelf, so just lowered it onto base and still slides under furniture. Allows for very close to wall placement of furniture in front of stand. Great piece of non-intrusive furniture and no issue at all with my Panasonic 50 inch plasma television. Hope this helps!

How many inches from the wall is: (1) the TV; (2) the front of the middle shelf; and (3) the front of the bottom plate?
A shopper
on Jul 7, 2020
BEST ANSWER: I have shoe mold at the edge of my base so mine sticks out 3/4 inch further than if you do not have shoe mold and just have regular 3/4 inche base. Shoe mold is often added when a wod floor is done later as mine was.
That said the back of my TV is 7 inches off the wall (that would be 6 1/4 inches w/o the shoe mold.
And the front of the bottom plate is 21 3/8 inches off the wall (that would be 19 5/8 inches w/o the shoe mold).
I am not using the middle shelf so I cannot comment on how far it sticks out.

If you slide it right against the wall, 1) about 5 inches; 2) same; 3) the bottom plate is touching the wall.

I understand from the other question that this does not have to be drilled into the wall. However, are there holes to drill it to the wall if one wants to for additional safety?

My 65" Panasonic plasma weighs in at 90.4 pounds (41 kilograms), just a hair above the maximum weight of 88 pounds advertised for this product. I am moving into an apartment where wall mounting will not be an option and I would like to "float" the television above a piece of furniture I already own that I do not feel it is safe to set the television on. Is 88 pounds a hard upper limit or is the unit sturdy enough to go slightly above?

BEST ANSWER: I had a 75 inch samsung Q90t on it for a while. Those are 107lbs, but they do sit a bit lower on the vesa mount. My recommendation would be to minimize the height off the floor so that it doesnt get knocked over easily. The weight probably isnt a problem itself but weight and leverage can make it easy to knock over.

Great stand, great alternative
Great stand, adjustable height, heavy duty steel construction. Mounted a 60" tv without a problem. It's a great alternative to drilling holes into walls, especially a rental unit. Highly recommend.

Works great!
Works great? very stable, easy to setup. Didn?t use the shelf so can?t comment on its stability but overall very pleased. Using to hold a 55 inch TV. As others have noted there is a decent chance you will have some minor cosmetic damage but the small scratch mine had was not a big deal.

Works for the money, but with caveats...
It works. The mount is relatively stable and easily adjustable for very reasonable money. The "foot" is flat enough at just under 1 inch that it should slide under most existing furniture or shelving should you need it to. Now the caveats; The panel between the posts vibrates quite a bit on contact. One may need to add damping material to it to prevent ringing for speakers or subs that happen to find it's resonant frequency. Also, the height of the mounting bracket starts from the lowest point of 36", then jumps to 44", above that, it's adjustable by 2" increments up to 56". It would be useful to have that adjustment between 36" and 44" by adding a few more sets of holes in the posts. Finally, I had purchased this item about two weeks before it went on sale for 20% off. I called to ask for a refund of the difference but was told their policy was 7 days for price changes. That policy should be at least as long as the return period. Not a feel-good from customer service.

Great value for a quality stand
High quality stand for the price. Sturdy and stable. I have an LG OLED55CX mounted above a TV cabinet with the base of this stand flat enough to slide underneath my TV cabinet. Mounting the TV on this stand gave me room to place my center channel speaker on top of the TV cabinet, beneath the mounted TV. I did not use the extra shelf that came with this stand, and it looks clean without the shelf; no visible holes or mounting points. My only recommendation is to revise the tilt-adjustable mounting brackets to indicate where the true center (flat) is. You have to eyeball it.
