Does this lock at 45 degrees as well as 0 and 90?
A shopper
on May 13, 2020
BEST ANSWER: There is no lock a 90 or 45 degrees. There is only friction generated by plates in the "elbow" to hold your TV. Mine ist'n strong enough to hold a 24" LED TV in any position.

I have it locked at (roughly) 45 degrees above my bed. I only have a 24" tv on it. But I had it locked at several different degrees before leaving it where it is now.

Can you spin the tv mount 39655 180 degrees?
Rudy Q
on Jun 3, 2020
BEST ANSWER: You can't 'spin' it. You can however, reverse the mount on the opposite side. I want to do this. because I want to put the TV face up against the ceiling when I'm not using it The only trick now is finding a TV that has 6-1/2 distance between the top of the tv and the top of the VESA bolts (any larger and then the top would hit the hinge base). My 42-inch tv is 7 inches so I'd have to get another tv. Also to mount it this way you'd have to make sure your tv isn't thicker than 1-1/4-inches thick.

Can it be used to mount TV on the wall? Where the storage position would be facing the ceiling and viewing position will the along the wall?
Sachin N
on Feb 12, 2022
BEST ANSWER: Yes.....it can be used as wall mount as I have done at my home with perfect results. I have no need for the fold up feature but in trying it, it could not hold up my 27" Tv. If I tighten the top hinge bolts it will hold facing the ceiling. To achieve your viewing angle, use spacers under the top 2 mounting bolts.

Sort of ... as designed the tv would be some distance from the wall when folded down for viewing. You may be able to reverse the mount at the end of the bar so the TV faces the ceiling when stowed, then it would deploy closer to the wall.

Mounted on wall and not ceiling. Worked out perfectly
This can be mounted on ceiling or wall. Use spacers under top two mounting bolts to get your viewing angle preference.
I installed this on the wall above a window. I used spacers under the top 2 mounting bolts for angle
