Can these stands be filled with sand?

BEST ANSWER: I don’t think so! However, I am using my stands for Monoprice 8” powered monitors, and they do not budge at all!! I personally don’t believe that you need the sand in the 18” stands at all.

The bases could not, but the pillars could. You'd have to mostly assemble them first as there is a rod that goes through the pillar to connect the top and bottom.

How does the cable management work?
Michael C
on Aug 15, 2020
BEST ANSWER: It simply has openings at the upper part of the vertical portion of the stand and the same at the bottom. Basically, the majority of your cables are concealed within the stand itself! I hope this helps!

BEST ANSWER: They will definitely hold the weight. I used mine for 17lbs each polks. As long as the tweeter gets near ear height when seated, you're good.

Position is everything - consider these stands to improve your speaker's position!
Great build quality, they look great and most importantly, have improved my listening experience by placing the mid-high frequency drivers at ear level. The low frequencies benefit with tighter, more discernable tones.

Good value
They are as good looking as pictured, and solid. It was a little tricky to assemble them to perfectly straight and level, you have to be somewhat forceful snapping in the pole cap inserts; but other than that, they were easy to assemble.

Three stars in terms of speaker stands overall, four stars for their tier. They do the job.
Five years ago I never bothered with the wall mounts that I bought for my bookshelf speakers because my wall material is 1” thick and difficult to use with anchors. Instead I sat them on some overturned metal IKEA wastebaskets. Good enough! But I have a tiny living room and it was time to make this area look neater. These fit the bill because the black glass matches my media console’s top, I needed some that weren’t so tall as to get in the way of the projector screen, and anyway these were at least taller than the wastebaskets so certainly an improvement! And of course they are $35. The construction is interesting, basically a rod threaded on two sides holds the top and bottom together, and they pass through some plastic end caps that fit awkwardly at each end of the tube, and then it all compresses by tightening a nut. I needed my own 10mm wrench. It takes a little adjusting to square all the parts with each other. The pointy anti-tip feet sit into some plastic bases which my wood floors will appreciate. The threading on the feet was not great so they didn’t all evenly screw in, and needed to be carefully started then gently persuaded with slip joint pliers. The straps are a nice touch but I think I’ll find that blue tack I bought years ago too.
I would buy them again for $35.

Good looks and performance at a great price.
For budget stands these look very nice. Not the end-all of speaker stands but, definitely a good starting point.

Works Great
Bought this to mount a heavy center speaker, i put the two of them side by side so that the large center speaker can sit well on these stands.. Seem to hold up fine, no complaints and were easy to assemble

Lifts speakers from table adequately
The bases and platforms are good, though the pillars themselves are fairly cheap. The cord-in-pillar thing would work well with just speaker cables, but I have powered monitor speakers with multiple inputs/cables, and that was a pretty tight squeeze.
The weak point is the bolts for the feet and center truss — the threads were so poor, I was worried I wouldn't be able to put it together, and would have to send it back. Get better bolts!

Good Price, Clean Build, Assembly could be better
Awkward assembly. There are no screws to attach just the rubber feet, had to special order them from THD. Platform is on the small side, but that is spec’ed, my bad for not noticing; but they do come with straps, which I will need to use. Not bad price, so you get what you pay for.
