Will the UP position of a 65" TV (TCL 6-Series) hide the mount?
Matthew A
on Feb 4, 2020
BEST ANSWER: To add to what Franklin said, and for those that don’t know, some TV manufacturers are putting the mounting holes towards the bottom of the TVs now versus towards the top or middle. I just switched from an older Sharp to a Westinghouse and the vesa mounting holes are now at the bottom and I can now see about 6” of the bracket and the entire sound bar mounting plate. I couldn’t see any of this with my old Sharp. So check pictures of where the holes are on the TV you want to picture. If they’re towards the bottom you will see some of the mount below the tv.

It’s hard to say. Depends on how your tv sits on the mount and where you mount the stand above the mantel. Mine does not hide the lower bar. I suggest cutting out a piece of cardboard to match you tv size and see where the mounts will go on your tv before attaching to the wall.

Definitely hides the mount. I installed a Samsung 65” and the only thing that shows will be the pull down handle and bracket for the sound bar bracket but once the soundbar of your choice is installed you’ll just see the pull down bar

2) There is a stopper pin you can use to stop from touching the mantel. But if you follow the instructions on how to install with the specific dimensions you do not need to use this pin. Definitely recommend this product.

If your TV weighs less than the minimum on this (~50 pounds) you will need to add some ballast (or a center channel/soundbar), or get a different mount; otherwise, reduce the gas cylinder force using the allan bolt head on the bottom of the mount (silver) to adjust in the - direction (stamped on the mount) until it will stay down on its own.

The user guide and video show that the TV does NOT hide the wall mount when the TV is in the UP position. Is this always true or is there a way to prevent this?

BEST ANSWER: I use this with a 65in TV and the portion of the mount will always show when the TV is in the raised position UNLESS you add a sound bar. I added Monoprice SB-200SW (which sounds great by the way) and the combination of the two completely hide the wall mount. This wall mount has accommodations to attache a sound bar but Unfortunately, the Monoprice SB-200SW is NOT designed for mounting to a wall mount so I had to custom fabricate a tray for the sound bar to mount to this wall mount.

Does this mount allow for pivoting of the TV? I realize it allows for up and down but looking for ability to adjust so if someone sitting at side can change viewing angle

on Nov 21, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes. It pivots left and right. But keep In mind that depending on the size of your tv and your mantle, it can only pivot as far as your mantle will allow if you plan on pulling your tv down to mantle height (ie. If you have a wide mantle, the amount of pivot is less than a thinner one).

BEST ANSWER: The long VESA brackets can attach to the TV at multiple spots, effectively raising or lowering the TV in reference to the wall mount. You may want to look at the 3D model files to determine the specific spacing options. A large TV with a big VESA footprint won't have as much flexibility with the bracket's connection points.

The dimensions diagram PDF shows a "max weight range" of "55-132 lbs". Will this work with a TV that weighs well below that range? I'm looking at 55" TVs that weigh 30-40 lbs. I only have space for a 55" TV for now, but it'd be great to have the flexibility to install a bigger TV in the future with the same mount.

Very pleased with your TV mount! The overall operation and build quality of the mount is outstanding. I completely recommend this mount to anyone who is looking for one of this style and function-ability. I didn't have any trouble mounting it, but I do recommend future buyers have someone professional to install it if you do not have any experience doing such work.

Potential but a Fail
Didn't work at all. 2 out of 4 mounting bolts catastrophically stripped when being screwed into wood studs. Insufficient information provided in the manual to make an informed decision of if the mount will fit your space at different mantel depths and clearances from the ceiling.

Best over the fireplace solution
This is just the way I thought it would be totally solving the over the fireplace installation. It puts the tv right where I can watch it comfortably. I totally recommend it

Easy instructions but should have measurements for TVs from ceiling and down other than that it was great

Don't buy this.
This is a poor design and did not properly hang 65" LG 4k. I had to rip strips of 2x4, paint them and attach the included brackets to wood, and secure the wood to my TV. This was the only way I could make the TV cover the bottom of the main wall mount. Very disappointed. This will be a temporary fix until I buy a different mount and throw this in the trash

Good for the price
As far as build quality no questions as to the longevity, it's built like a tank and will last a while for sure. I only have three issues
1- You're unable to adjust the height of the mounting plate on the drop arm. This means that if you have a tv that that has a lower vesa mount the brackets that hold the wall mount will always be visible with the tv in the up position unless you modify it which voids any warranty.
2- I feel the vesa hangers should allow for greater adjustment, I had to take a grinder open up some of the slide adjusters to allow the tv to hang at the lowest possible position. I no longer see the wall mount brackets in the up position but now my tv is very top heavy putting a lot of strain on the vesa mount.
3- I feel they should include some sort of strap that can clip around the frame on the top of the tv for tvs with low vesa mounts in order to distribute the load more evenly

Stone/ rock install.
Works as expected. Our TV is a 75" Sony about 63 lbs. It's awkward to move from the lowered to the lifted position but I believe this is because of the size of the TV. It may still need more adjustment. The installation took most of the day but our fireplace is uneven rock/stone so it wasn't very straightforward. Still we would recommend this mount. It heavy and sturdy which to us means well built
