Is this a amplified antenna?
A shopper
on Mar 4, 2020
BEST ANSWER: No it is not. For top performance you may consider an outdoor style signal amplifier, proper coaxial cable, and any needed signal distribution equipment for multiple TV sets. You may also want to consider an antenna rotor system to be able to get the maximum possible signals from multiple directions. If you go cheap and simple you get what you pay for.

It is not amplified however I live in a semi rural area and receive approx. 20-30 channels with very good quality. The weather is somewhat of a factor. My antenna is in my attic.

No, this is not an amplified antenna. the coax cable you provide would go from the antenna to your TV directly, unless you add your own signal amplifier or splitter.

Base upon the listed specifications, it doesn't look as though it supports the the low part of the VHF TV band for channels 2 through 6 (55MHz through 88MHz) nor does it support FM (88MHz through 108MHz). Is that true?

That is true. I used a separate antenna for FM radio but mostly because stations are in a different direction than TV.
The antenna does pick up low VHF and FM radio decently though--I tried it. But most low VHF stations these days are small, low-power, educational while most major stations are in UHF or high-VHF. Note the tuner channel numbers are no longer at all related to the transmitter frequency-- for example in my area "Ch 4" is UHF at 605MHz, "Ch 5" is UHF at 599MHz, "Ch 7" is high-VHF at 177MHz

BEST ANSWER: I don't have exact gain specs, but based on the element lengths, it is not ideal for low-VHF stations (mostly educational and low power) or FM radio. Better for UHF and high-VHF. That is what I saw when I scanned for channels as well.

what are the dimensions of this antenna? Can it mounted in the attic?

BEST ANSWER: The description says, "Product Dimensions 869*737*420mm" Which translates to 34" by 29" by 16" in inches so a tad big for attic installation.

How long would this last outside in an area with hot summers and cold winters? What does it weigh? I am trying to figure out how well it is constructed. What is the warranty? I do not see warranty information on the description tab.

How does the coaxial cable attach to the antenna. Where, (which screws) does the coaxial cable attach to? Is there another adapter piece that is needed to attach to the coaxial cable? Does this proposed adapter piece come with the antenna? None of this is covered in the provided installation guide. The installation guide only shows how to assemble the antenna.

BEST ANSWER: You screw the 75 ohm "F" connector cable directly to the built in 75 ohm "F" connector on the antenna. Nothing else needed to purchase if you have the standard 75 ohm "F" connector cable. That connector is the same type of screw on connector you find on VCRs, DVD Players, etc.

Works like it should
Easy to put together and receives HD station at 52 miles with no issues. Attached it to Dish antenna mount after removing dish. We'll see how it stands up to 50 mph winds this spring.

Does what you would expect
For the price, you can't expect gangbusters. We live 80 miles away from most transmitters, so I didn't. Picked up a couple of stations, 10 subchannels altogether. Had to find two sweet spots pointed in the right direction to get those two, but it's inside. Playing around with it until it's all settled is most of the fun. Should work better with an antenna amplifier. That's in the plans for Christmas maybe. And maybe a way bigger tv antenna in the spring. Then I'll play with this one on some radios.

Just What I Needed.
I had an old antenna from back in the days, that was beat-up and loosing its ability to bring in stations. I was looking to get a replacement for the old rig and saw this on sale and figured for the price, I'd go for it.
Shipping was quick, I received the antenna in a few days and it was in great shape upon arrival. Followed the simple assembly instructions and put it together. Went up on my roof and attached it above the old antenna, I'd say about 15' from the ground. Connected it to the TV and watched the channels come in Crystal Clear. Wow, what a difference. I get more channels with this than my old antenna and the reception is much better.
I live in Port St. Lucie FL. and get all the broadcast channels from West Palm Beach with no problem. That's about 50 miles south of me, over flat terrain. On clear days I can reach Miami, which is about 80+ miles south, over flat terrain.
I get 63 Channels including ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, CW, Comet, ME-TV, ANTENNA-TV, COZI, Charge-TV, BUZZER-TV, WEATHER-TV, Court-TV, GRIT, QUEST, BOUNCE, Circle-TV, LAFF, CRIME, QVC & Other Shopping Networks, Estrella-TV & Other Spanish Networks, Mystery-TV and too many more to keep listing.
I will be getting a couple more of these and pointing one North up the coast and another NW towards Orlando, to see what channel I'll receive.

I mounted this behind my satellite dish and pointed it to towers about 40 miles away.
Received excellent signal that was split to 4 televisions and all TVs had a clear picture and sound.
