Is all mounting hardware included?

BEST ANSWER: It was for me. After taking down the satellite dish, I used the post that held the dish to my roof. A friend didn't take his satellite dish off the post and mounted the Monoprice Antenna under the dish. We both used the existing cable that was connected to the satellite dish. We both have perfect reception. Won't be going back to the expensive satellite system again.

It includes a pole clamp, which you can see at one end of the antenna in the product's pictures. There is no other mounting hardware included or needed provided you're going to attach it to a pole.

The clamp to mount it to a mast is included. You’ll have to supply a mast and 75 ohm coax with F connectors

How good is this anrenna at picking up high VHF (Ch. 12), 35 miles from the transmitter?

BEST ANSWER: Pretty good, but it all depends on terrain, height of the antennas (mountaintop vs top of a building), coax/connector quality, and obstructions between you and the transmitter. A few days ago I was camped in the La Sal Mountains above Moab, Utah at 9,400 ft and was picking up Salt Lake City stations more than 100 miles away. A few days before was camped in a canyon outside Durango, Colorado and picked up all the local stations.

The 60 mile range may be over stated. I'm about 30 miles from the transmitter and indoors got only spotty reception. Out doors was better, but our HOA won't allow this.

Does it work for FM radio?

BEST ANSWER: The specs say 174 MHz is lowest freq covered. FM radio is around 90 MHz. The antenna may work ok for very local FM radio stations. There are much better options for FM radio. This antenna works very well for VHF HI and UHF TV reception.

FM radio spectrum (87.5 to 108 MHz) falls within the VHF radio spectrum. VHF/UHF implies that it will work for FM.
I use this antenna for off air HDTV reception only and it works very well.

BEST ANSWER: 29-1/4" side-to-side; 18-3/4" front-to-back; about 2-3/4" deep but you need to have more room for the connector on the cable.

BEST ANSWER: Yes. Imagine a four leaf clover with the forward and backward leaves larger than the left and right leaves. So you will still 'kinda' receive all signals but for the 50 mile range think mostly in one direction and maybe 10 or 20 in the other directions.

Does this antenna need an amplifier?

BEST ANSWER: I have always used a 10db amplifIer with my antennas because I have a long run from attic to basement but whether it is truly necessary is hard to say. If you have not needed an amplifier with other antennas, you should not need it with this one. This antenna works well for me.

Is this old school type of antenna better than much smaller electronic type?

BEST ANSWER: I am very impressed with this antenna, it works well for my situation where I have coax running to the attic and literally just tossed this antenna on the insulation pointing roughly in the direction of the majority of the transmitters in my area.
I don't have any data to back up my opinion but I believe this is performing better than the flat sheet of paper sized antenna that required usb power to work.

Good little antenna
I'm using this on a photo stand as an indoor antenna, and it works well. I have to adjust the antenna for some stations, but I'm pleased with how well this works and the price!

Got it as a gift for our Grandson who is moving inn the Los Angelas area to attend a university. No cable needed he?s getting 71 channels.

Much better than HD7
This review is meant those who are trying to decide between this antenna and the HD7. I'm about 50-60 miles East of LA and bought both antennas but was hoping to use the HD7 since it was a little smaller. In my living room, the HD7 picked up 4 channels. On the roof, adjusted every which way for 2 weeks, it picked up 4 channels. I gave up and mounted this antenna on the roof on the same 3' pole and picked up 59 channels (of course some of the channels are junk but they were picked up!). I may try using a longer pole and/or an amplifier to see if it will pick up a couple of the networks that are slightly out of range.

An open box product, seems to have all the parts
The antenna seems OK, it's a used item that clearly had been opened before. It's an antenna so it's not a huge deal, but it would have been nice to know I was getting a previously used item.

Good compact antenna for the price. Works well on the camper van 15 ft up on a fiberglass pole (while camped; take it down while driving).
