Odd that something advertised as zebrawood is portrayed as a flat black headphone. Is the picture in error, or the description?
Are the earpads easily swapped, how are they attached? Mounting lips/glue/magnets/velcro ?

BEST ANSWER: The images will be updated, but the zebrawood has been stained black, but grain still shows through. The earpads are slipped on and off with mounting lips.

The pads are easily swapped as they rely solely on a lip for retention. I swapped the original pads for Sendy Aiva pads.

If you look closely you can see the grain. Hard to capture black grain without artificially enhancing color

BEST ANSWER: I do not consider them a sensitive headphone nor do they require lots of power. They will certainly perform their best with a desktop amplifier such as the combo you mentioned. I am using these with the Drop version of a THX 789 Amp and they are a great pair. The cable uses a common 2.5mm trs plug at each side much like the M1060 and other brands of headphones such as HifiMan. I ordered a couple cables from Periapt which are "Type 2" to fit these and my other Monolith M1060 headphones. I do not have experience with the M565 but I would guess these are a step up from them. The drivers used in this model are also used in other highly praised brands of headphones.

Is the M570 a balanced headphone? i.e. does it have a inner circuitry that will truly improve sound when used with balanced trrs cables? (perhaps the Staff is more suited to answer this one).

Very Nice
It has a Y-type cable, with separate left/right plugs that go into headphones.

Let's be really clear about those 2.5mm connectors on each earcup!
The cable that comes with these great sounding headphones is very good but is also a VERY tight fit. You have to push them into each earcup connector very hard until they click.
The plastic base of each connector should be flush with the hole.

Great upgrade from Fidelio X2!!
Coming from the Fidelio X2 I wanted to stay with open back and try a planar and these are a considerable upgrade to my ears! I paired them with a FIIO E12 Mont Blanc amplifier and using an LG V40 as a source. These are an improvement in detail, clarity and the bass scales up really nicely with the amp and responds well to EQ. I am super happy with this purchase!!

You?ll Be Pleasantly Amazed
Depth of sound Great price for Planar Speakers Very nice bass sound Could use a little treble clarity enhancement. Gives a similarity to a rich Bose speaker sound & surprisingly works just fine volume-wise using a direct input into a Bose radio/CD. A headphone amp is not advised for use with a Bose. The purity of Bose sound configuration changes. However, a properly matched headphone amp may be in order if using these headphones with other such tabletop radios. I?ve already performed this test with a Sangean radio and it?s spectacular when a quality transmitting FM station is properly locked in. Amazing. Freedom Rock - crank it up. I?m over 70 years old & know a few things audiophile-wise too

Fun listening experience
Delightful listening experience. Gives me everything I want at an extremely reasonable price. I imagine you would have to spend 3-5x the price for more refined listening experience. I enjoy these so much I bought a pair & and amp as a gift for a friend.

Want to go planar for less $ ?
It?s a lot of headphone for the money?fit and finish are surprisingly good. The 2.5mm cable snaps into place firmly. The cans are heavy, the stock pads are very comfortable. The separation of detail is decent, the sound stage is meh, the low to mid transition is smooth with no bumps or dips, gorgeous midrange, and a rolled off top end that will be someone?s idea of warm or someone else?s idea of dark?ymmv. A fun set of cans for cheap.

Feeding your planar addiction. Hunger satisfied.
Note: The dual connection of wire to headphone must be snapped into the ear cups for proper operation. Sound is crystal clear and balanced. Bass and mids are clean. Soundstage is good but could be better. Detail and instrument separation are planar good. Vocals are featured via a smooth presentation. Big headphone, but light and comfortable. Non-fatiguing all around. An addictive listen.

M570s: Great sound, bad connections
These headphones sound great to me, but the looseness of the connections is almost a deal breaker. They will lose sound or fall out if you move head much. Shouldn't have to use tape on new headphones.

Loose connections are a big flaw on the M570s.

Engaging and fun
I'm a long-time audiophile for over twenty years, but this is my first pair of open-back planar headphones. I bought them on a whim when cheapaudioman recommended them. Listening through TIDAL>MQA>Dragonfly Cobalt. I must say I am enjoying them immensely. They are a touch bright/forward on lesser recordings and some modern recordings that intentionally murder the highs. It can feel a bit fatiguing at first, but I usually settle in within a few minutes and don't notice it anymore. Quality recordings sound fantastic. I have decent gear otherwise. Primaluna and Outlaw integrated amps, Schiit DAC, Totem Acoustic Hawk, Model 1 Sig, Sky speakers, Rythmik and CSS subs. I tend to prefer engaging speakers over resolving ones. I make my full-time living as a pro musician and have used UE18's for over a decade on stage. To my ears, these headphones are just fun. Build quality and comfort is very good as well.
