What is the center to center dimension of the screws that secure the top plate to the uprights? I might want to rotate the top plate 90 degrees and drill new holes.

BEST ANSWER: Hello. The center to center distance between the two holes on the top plate is 9cm, or 3 9/16 inches. It appears to me like there would be sufficient clearance to rotate the top plate and add new holes. I hope that this will work out well for you!

What is the largest speaker cabinet size (width x depth in inches) the top plat can support?

BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question.
This would have a plate that is 8.5" x 6.0" and can take up to 60 lbs.
If your speaker has a foot print that is smaller than the plate and lighter then 60 lbs this will support it.

Wow!
How can you possibly sell this quality for such little money? I purchased this item in 32" for my studio. Are these $400 stands? Well no and who would expect that? For just over $100 shipped to my door you can beat the appearance and sturdiness of these. I mounted an old pair of Paradigm Mini Monitors on the stands and they work perfectly.

Decent with some "shortcoming's"
Decent for the price. Fairly solid. Top is a bit small and the height is just a few inches too short for me. Would probably return (mainly for height issue) but it's going to be too much of a hassle to repackage.

Nice Looking Stand That Won?t Break the Bank
I was pleasantly surprised the two columns are solid pieces of wood rather than a metal tube with a faux wood finish painted on. The wood is solid, doesn?t resonate like a metal tube. It?s also lighter, especially compared to a metal tube filled with sand (very heavy) or coarse crushed walnut shell (careful if you have nut allergies).
Some tips for putting them together. I used one of my kitties cat towers. It put everything at chest height. I placed the wood pieces across the tower and then attached the two plates. I put the base plate on first, tightened to within a few millimeters. Fully tightening at this stage prevented attaching the top plate no matter how much force I used. Although the stand comes with a Allen wrench for the top bolts, you will need a wide head Phillips screw driver for the four bottom bolts.

Using a cat tower to aid assembly.

Nicely done Stands
Very nice cherry wood color. Height is good. Easy to assemble Only reason I gave it a 4 star instead of 5 star was wished there was an option for wider plates. Especially top plate.

Just like it says on the tin
These are really sturdy, attractive stands. Assembly was easy and quick it took longer to unpack them from their careful packing boxes! I have a pair of Dali Spektor 2s on them; the speakers are just slightly bigger than the plate but feel really secure. Id like to have a hard surface pad included in addition to the beefy carpet spikes that come with the stands, but those are easy enough to add myself for my tile floor. Im just perfectly pleased with these.
