I believe that is the same picture that is used for the dolby atmos version. That is why you see 2 sets of binding posts.

Is the Monoprice THX-365C THX Certified Ultra Center Channel Speaker the center that matches these, or is there a different center forthcoming?

Can you not buy a 3rd THX-460T to use as a center channel? How would it differ if one to make a "THX-460C" designed as a center channel. This would be idea to have three identical speakers behind an acoustically transparent video screen
yes, you could use a third THX-460T as a center channel.

Yes, the THX-365C certainly does match the THX-460T, however we all would really wish if Monoprice could please consider making a true match to the THX-460T, which would be a THC-460C with 4 woofers. Sorry, but the THX-365C just doesn't cut it. It really doesn't. Not trying to be a jerk here, however the THX-365C is a fine match to the THX Bookshelf speakers, but simply cannot keep up / truly support an intense Center channel movie content like a quad woofer center speak could. Thanks for Listening.

Is the standard monoprice 12awg speaker wire (pid 2817) fine to run these speakers? Does the thx certification require any certain cabling?

Depends on your distance from amp. Do a search for recommend gage vs cable runs. You just want to minimize resistance within reason, THX or any speaker.

Nope, no bi-wiring... Monoprice is using an incorrect picture for the 460T. It is actually a picture of the 465T, which has the up-firing ATMOS driver and hence the extra binding posts.

There is no easy answer as it depends on a number of factors and the room dynamics, but a general rule of thumb would be 2-3 feet away from the nearest wall. There are a ton of articles on the web regarding proper speaker placement and it can get rather complicated. I have my pair 3ft from the front wall (behind the speaker) and 2 ft from the side wall measured from the speaker cone center. It is not a 'perfect' placement as I am limited by room size but I find that it still sounds great.

What’s the minimum wattage required to drive two thx - 460t speakers?
Stanford P

BEST ANSWER: Personally I wouldn't want to use any less than 50 watts per channel, although a healthy 100 watts per channel would be even better. IF you cross them over to a Subwoofer (or two) then the 50 watts per channel may be just fine (short of having a very large room / sitting far away - say > 10 ft).

Similar sound to Klipsch speakers.
Had to pull the treble way down for accuracy sake.
Ok in a HT setup but wouldn't recommend for music.

Simply the best..
I had pre-wired for a 9.1.4 setup during the construction of my home and also provisioned for a whole home audio (6 zones). I was looking for a budget solution for speakers since I had to install too many of them. My friend had suggested to go with monoprice for my theater surrounds, height and channel music speakers.
I had bought a few speakers and after listening to the quality of these speakers, we both decided to go with the same speakers for our entire home audio solution. We installed these speakers throughout our homes and are really enjoying high fidelity music in our entire homes. These are just top class. I already had a pair of tower speakers and center, was just looking for a living room set saw some deal on the encore series. But later decided to upgrade my theater with THX certified mains.
It really turned out to be the best decision. I'm just in love with these speakers, keep listening to music on these. They are just too good, we tested a few high quality movies to and thoroughly happy with them.
You cannot get anything better than this, people are always talking about the price. In my opinion the quality is top notch, after listening to them, even if I'm asked to pay more, I will happily do.
These are just great, close your eyes and buy them.

Speaker worth way more than its asking price
I was glad I purchased a pair of the THX-460t for my 2-channel listening when they were on sale. It didn't fail my expectation.
What I like about this speaker:
Accurate tonality and smooth frequency response for a long listening session without ear fatigue.
The speaker is front-ported which makes an easy placement.
The 3-way speaker design gives the best music resolution.
The lightweight dome midrange offers more accurate vocals with no sign of coloration.
4 x 6-1/2" woofers offer a fast and defined solid bass response.
A sturdy oval speaker cabinet greatly reduces standing waves and cabinet resonance.
The THX-460t is really a steal at this price point, highly recommended.

Outstanding Value
I Have been in the audio hobby since 1974 and have owned and currently own many HI End products fom infinity 2.5, Acoustat
2÷2, Acoustat 44, stacked Advents, Magnapan 1.7i, Fosgate Audionics MC220, Spatial Audio M3, M3 Turbo,Triod Master and Tekton Double Impact with upgrades. All these speakers are very good. I decided to try the 460T speakers. I figured the ultra THX certification might provide a minimum guality so I took the chance. I was not disappointed. Very well made. I also purchased the matching 365 THX center channel. The speakers have lots of flexibility. ( full range open ports, sealed ports) I run them either using a Snell THX class A 80hz crossover with speakers full range or through my Marantz AV8805A processor with speakers set to small with a 60hz crossover frequency with ports open. I have throughly enjoyed the speakers. Cabinets are very well made especially for the money. The sound is very neutral slightly bright but not hard. The speakers respond to upgraded components and clearly show differences. I have used the Monolithic 7, Emotiva XPR5 and Pass Labs X250. To sound there best they should be at least 4ft from front wall and I get away with 19" from side walls using 4 ft 4inch absorbing panels.
The only thing I wished is Monoprice would build a 460T center channel. Exactly the the same size but as a horizontal center. I was going to purchase another 460T as a center but my room is not large enough to put speakers behind a perforated screen. My screen is 142" 1.78 ratio. I thought about running another 365 THX center but running them parallel is too low of impedance.( 2 ohms ) Running them in series drops speakers to 8 ohms.
The 365t center is adequate but 2 6.5 woofers can not give you the xtra power feeling of 4 6.5 woofers.
Finally these speakers are very durable. I run 725 per channel and they easily handle power. The 365T center does ok under normal loud levels but if you push it really hard there is some strain.( over 108 db )
Running a 465T as a verticaI center the sound is effortless.

Audiophile Quality.. Highly recommended.
These speakers replaced a high-end pair of powered super towers that quit working. These Monolith speakers are easily the best speakers I have owned. They have excellent detail in all ranges including perfect dialogue clarity at lower volumes. I can?t say enough good things.
One thing to note.. At time of purchase in April, 2021..The pictures of this model showed two sets of speaker connections. This led to much confusion as to the ability / requirement to bi-amp. To be clear.. The THX-460T (Non Atmos up-firing) model only has one set of terminals with NO ability or requirement to bi-amp. The incorrect image appears to be taken of the similar model with up-firing modules.
Second thing to note.. Don?t let your room correction software cut out the low end. This is an issue that affects all 3-way tower speakers. Most receivers / processors are designed to cut out and divert all the lower frequencies to the subwoofer during multi channel audio. Use pure direct for music

Their presence/projection in a medium sized room is reassuring and I feel midrange is finally given its due after shifting from stand mount LR speakers (Wharfedale Evo 4.2's which are fantastic now as my side surrounds).

Hard to beat...
For the money, not sure you can beat. Smooth response, decent imaging, nice looking finish and grill. Haven't done much critical listening yet, but room filling on movie tracks, with crisp dialogue. Not fatiguing at higher SPL. BTW, these brutes are very tall.

Buy with zero regret
I had previously upgraded my home theater with the other Monoprice THX-365T speakers. I had upgraded from some good PSB and HSU speakers. The Monoprice speakers were sharper and didn't "weaken at the knees" when I fired off some challenging music and movie scenes.
We loved the 365-t speakers so much we moved them into the family room to improve our sound quality when entertaining and cooking. Thus making room for the THX-460T speakers going into the home theater.
We are using a Yamaha Advantage receiver to power the set up. The center channel and rear speakers are all Monoprice THX-365C speakers. Which are great. Two subs as well.
Now that I got the history out of the way, I can compare the two set ups. I posted reviews of my experience of the 365T and 365C speakers on this site. I love them. I didn't replace the 365T speakers because there was an issue, in fact as mentioned above I was so happy with them I wanted them in more places in my house.
The 460T speakers are huge. 55 inches tall. And incredibly heavy. Be prepared for some lifting. After wiring them in, I ran the Yamaha Ypao mic set up, then did some additional turning with my RadioShack (FTW!) sound meter. Little db adjustments and wow... wow...wow....
This is the best way I can describe the difference. Is describe my music listening experience. When I had all 5 Monoprice 365T/C speakers (plus 4 Atmos speakers) connected, I found myself preferring the 9-channel listening for music rather than running music through "direct" or 2-channel settings and just listening to my L/R speakers (plus sub). Although the 365T speakers make great stereo music (thus I moved them elsewhere in my house) the stereo sound wasn't as good as having them all on. Clearly I am not an audiophile purist. I just wanted the best listening experience for my ears. But, now that my L/R speakers are the 460T speakers, whoa. A different story. Ever since I connected them we are listening to jus the stereo setting, except for movies of course. I can not tell you have amazing these sound. I had a professional audio person come over to give a listen. They have heard it all. I was happy to see the smile on his face.
As far as movies, to be perfectly honest...I can't really say how dramatic the upgrade was over the 365T speakers. The epic experience is the same if not a lot better, but I am not training enough to explain the differences. And that is because the 365T speakers are really really amazing. Plus during movies a lot of the sound is sent thru to my 365C center channel. So, I can say with great confidence you will not be disappointed about the quality of sound these provide. Being able to afford speakers of this quality is the coolest thing ever for me, a wannabe audio/videophile.
Sorry for the long winded review...
Summary, if you plan on listening to music in stereo, these are epic. My movie experience has been amazing. But these with confidence.
A favor I would like to ask Monoprice, can you solve the on-line debate about whether to set up your receiver to 4/6-ohm for these and the 365T/C speakers. So much on line chatter says to never do it. My Yamaha Advantage receiver doesn't have an issue with handling it. What do you guys recommend?

Amazing speakers. Best available at this price.
Buy these! I have these powered by a Yamaha Aventage rx-a3080 and paired with Monolith THX-365T surrounds and a monoprice 10" ported monolith and a few thx in-wall / ceiling speakers in a movie/music home theater. It sounds far better than any other speaker set-up I've ever owned or heard in this price range. Performs like a MUCH more expensive speaker. You feel like you're in the studio with the artists. So good. I broke them in with some Beastie Boys and Daft Punk vinyl on a Fluance R85 and they barely broken a sweat. Clear tones at loud volumes.
A few other things that may not be in the listing, but are good to know:
- It only has one pair of speaker inputs (the product listing showed 2 when I bought it)
- It requires assembly. It ships with the base detached. You need to add the feet (rubber bulbs or metal spikes - both are included) and then attach the base to the speaker with the included screws. There is no allen wrench included, so you'll need to have your own to complete assembly. There are also no printed instructions, but it's pretty intuitive if you've seen speakers before
- One of my speaker grills arrived broken. Monoprice doesn't ship replacement parts so you have to return the whole speaker just to get a replacement grill. That's weird and not worth the hassle as these are HUGE and you'll need to destroy the box to get them out. So I just glued it and used some touch up paint. But be aware that a full return is needed even for small issues.
- They are really heavy. You may need a partner or a dolly to move the boxes.
- There are a few hairline scratches on them out of the box. Not a big deal as you only notice when you're up really, really close.
- Sound identical (to me) to my Monolith THX-365Ts with a sub, you probably don't need these if you already have that set-up.
