I have four 6 ohm speakers. Will this selector allow me to connect them?

BEST ANSWER: I believe it should. I do not think that the impedience of the speakers will matter, but I would keep them the same.

Does this have better speaker connectors than the ones on Product # 8232 ?

BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question.
These would have similar connectors to what is found on #8232.
Whether or not you would have as hard of a time with these as you would with the ones on #8232 would be hard to tell.

What are the inputs? 1/4 inch?
A shopper
on Feb 7, 2020
BEST ANSWER: No, they are screw connectors. You can remove the block from the unit, insert the wires in the correct openings, tighten the screws, and reinstall the block. It is very difficult to connect the wires correctly without removing the block from the unit.

I have 10 Polk Audio ceiling speakers. 100W each. I want to run these on the two zones in my Onkyo NR696. Will this selector be adequate to support this load, and can the two amp option on the selector allow for input into the two zones on the receiver?
A shopper
on Jul 11, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Yes it will easily handle the wattage, the 2 zone is just for the Onkyo's amplifiers to seperate, not the selector. I have this exact one and it works great.

Hi, I have two pairs of these speakers (4 speakers total) and I'm wondering which amplifier I should use to power all 4 speakers? Or, specifically how many watts should the amplifier provide? I have these set up as multi-room speakers. I thought I would buy the SS-Pro 8 and an amplifier to power the speakers and control the volume of each independently. I just need to know the amplifier size I should purchase.

The Monoprice Customer Service is excellent!
So far, so good. I only wish it had some paperwork included in the package. There?s no directions, specs, or website to refer to.

Product works well and is priced competitively
Achieves the results required across multiple speakers all running from one direct-feed amplifier without the need for having supplementary amplifier wall or room units. If you have an amplifier that can handle the power needs across many speakers (typically minimum of about 50 watts per channel RMS, both channels driven, at 8 ohms from 20-20kHz, with less than 1% distortion, at low to moderate volume levels) then this unit will do its job well across 8 pairs of efficient speakers --- and the same manufacturer has models that will distribute to more for slightly higher pricing. No complaints. Remember this unit has no power cord, and no power --- its simply a distribution unit to keep control of the impedance. And that it does well. Remember too its easier to damage speakers with too little amp power (because over-driving an amp causes "clipping" distortion that results in speaker damage typically above the 12-1 o'clock position on a volume control), so more amp power the better.
