Is it good For a absolute beginner?
A shopper
on May 16, 2019
BEST ANSWER: In a way it is good for "absolute beginners" because of its price. It's performance is good but not excellent, but the major drawback is the size of its build plate and its capacity for making larger builds. If this restriction isn't a problem for you, it might be what you're looking for. On the other hand, once you start using a 3D printer, you will want to make larger objects, so consider this issue. You may want to save up a bit more and buy a printer with larger build capacity.

I would say yes, I have had mine for about 3 weeks and the quality of prints is consistently very high. It is very easy to get started making your first print, just unbox, plug it in, install the micro sd, install the filament and press start print on the menu.

Yes. I am an absolute beginner. This is my first 3D printer ever. In other words, I have no other experiences to compare with. Having said that, I find the MP Mini Delta easy to operate and the prints I am getting are beyond my (inexperienced) expectations.

Maybe if you are comfortable configuring software. I have a video about this on the DrVax youtube channel. Just goto YouTube, search for DrVax and look at the recently uploaded videos.

This does require some troubleshooting skills or at least access to the wiki for this printer, but with a little persistence works well.

can you use metal to print?
A shopper
on Jul 7, 2019
BEST ANSWER: If you mean actual metal, the answer is no. There are metallic filaments in ABS and PLA that can be used and they create a pretty good metallic look. These filaments are available in silver, bronze, gold, and brass. Some actually have metallic fill (metal particles) and others don't, but the one's I've tried without fill come out well. Filled filament will produce more wear on the nozzle if that's your choice.

Yes but you will want to upgrade to a hardened steel nozzle or a tungsten nozzle because metal filaments are highly abrasive and will destroy a soft brass nozzle while printing.

BEST ANSWER: All of our printers, included the Mini Delta, are only capable of printing with PLA and other various plastic filaments right out of the box. In theory it is possible to print with wax, but would require some alterations to the printer in order to get the most out of it. If you have any further questions you can contact us at 3Dprinter@monoprice.com.

We would not have a profile for the Mini printer so you would have to set it up using the settings that are in the manual.
The version of Cura that came on the card would be recommended.

Still Impressed after buying two
I have bought two of these printers. One I got as an open box and one I got new for my SO's brother for Christmas. Both have worked great out of the box. My biggest issue with them is that the included scraper is garbage and should just be thrown out immediately and replaced. That and that it doesn't come with a way to read the micro sd card, either an adapter to full size sd or a usb reader like every other printer. I use my creality scraper and adapter that came with my Ender 3. My SO's brother had a lot of issues getting Cura 4.4 to work with the profiles on the wiki but the included slicer worked well for him out of the box once I helped him with the gcode start code. Overall this is a surprisingly capable printer for the money. Like all cheap printers, it needs some leg work to get running but once you do, it's a very reliable machine.

Not bad for the price
This little printer prints PLA in decent quality after some tweaking. Default z-level (0.4) is not usable but changing it to 0.3 helped.
Bed leveling doesn't work very well either. A lot of people seem to have the issue where the left side is just slightly higher than the right.
PLA performance is very good and somewhat consistent. Also tried PETG but does not work very well.
Overall it is an OK printer for the price, but it does requires more tweaking than it should.

Great little printer
I’m interested in printing Rhino-drawn original jewelry designs for evaluation, adjustment, and possible casting. It is better than I expected for that purpose. I’ve done some UV great little resin printing, and the resin quality is higher, but it’s slow and messy; I’ve found that for intermediate versions the Mini Delta works better, in fact I bought a second Mini Delta for the process. It’s a small printer, but the size is perfect for jewelry printing.
