BEST ANSWER: No, it’s not too much power. The iPhone 8 has fast charging capabilities and can support up to at least the 29W Apple charger, so this 18W charger would be fine.

My understanding is the 18 watt charger is a quick charger. The charger came with my 11 Pro and 11 Pro max I use it on all my Apple products except watch. Worked great on IPhone 6 Plus

I have an 8+ and this charger.... it’s great, it won’t provide too much power, however it will fast charge it, which is a feature of the iphone. It’s great.

BEST ANSWER: Yes, it should work. I use this cable with an iPhone 11 and a charger that takes a USB-C cable connection at the other end.. I would expect this to work with an iPhone 12 with a Lighting connection.

Great for Fast Charging
The thickness of these cables makes the Apple branded cables look toy-like. I purchased these to replace all of our OEM cables and there is a noticeable reduction in charging time!
Hoping the added thickness will not deteriorate as quickly as the Apple cables, and so far they are extremely solid.

This lightning cable works great on a fast charger on my Iphone 13
Not all third party cables work all that well with Iphones but this one works great on a fast charger with my Iphone 13. Happy about that !
