Cable works (i.e. charges/connects) but the housing for the lightning connector tip is larger than the standard one shipped by Apple. This can cause problems with cases; I had to shave out the port opening on my case to get this cable to fit.
I never moved them from my desk. Plugged in only once to the mac i.e. I plugged it in and left it plugged in. Of course I plugged in my iPad many times to the other end.
It was fun while it lasted. So now I'm here trying to find a more reliable cable.
I'd expect this if I shoved them into my computer case, or rolled them up or if the cat thought it was a kitty toy. But nothing like that happened. Totally stationary.
