Do you need external speakers for this monitor for sound?
A shopper
on Dec 1, 2020
BEST ANSWER: You do need external speakers since it is only a monitor. I would say I am very very satisfied with the monitor itself. Although meant for gaming, it is a great work productivity booster since you can have several documents visible on the screen at one time. Great resolution, beautiful images too.

No; however the built-in speakers are not the best. The sound quality reminds me of a portable transistor AM radio from the 70’s (seriously). They don’t project toward the front. To adjust the volume you have to go into the OSD menu.

It would be very nice to have a remote to control the monitor. Just switching from input to input is a pain with the limited buttons on the bottom of the screen. Either an IR remote control, or an app to change inputs with key combinations would be great. But no... you have to maneuver just 5 buttons to do everything.

does the monitor come with software that would allow configuring dual, triple or quadruple monitors?

BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your inquiry. The monitor doesn’t come with software that would allow configuring dual, triple, or quadruple monitors. However, it does have a PiP (Picture in Picture) feature that allows you to split the screen into two parts. You can display one source device on the main screen while displaying another source device in an inset window.

Wouldn't this only work for two HDMI sources with the monitor in Picture By Picture Mode? As far as I can tell, this monitor doesn't have PbP, only PiP. Using Picture In Picture, you'll wind up hiding a segment of one of the HDMI outputs. I can't see any feature that would allow for setting up a quad PbP arrangement in this monitor's menu.

I messaged staff with "I purchased the Monoprice Zero-G 1440p Ultrawide gaming monitor and have been testing it out the last few days. Looking through the settings, there is one called "Response Time" with the selectable options of 'Off', 'High', 'Middle', and 'Low'. What do each of these options correspond to? Does 'High' mean a High response time, or does it mean that the 'decrease response time' setting is turned up to its highest option? The specs mention a response time of '8ms (4ms OD)', so which setting should I use for the 4ms response time? Or is this something that only applies to the previous model that allowed you to modify the 'Overdrive' settings?"
They said "That's a very good inquiry. You are absolutely correct on the response time (Off, High, Middle, Low) these are the adjustment time response for the picture quality settings. The 8ms is the manufacturer respond time set while the 4ms OD is what they called ghost pixel respond time which most commonly called max response rate.
Pixel response time is a visual fidelity spec and applies just as much when you're watching a movie as when you're playing a game. "

There is an audio out but no USB to power a set of speakers. I’m thinking of simply getting a Bluetooth speaker dedicated for my laptop but then it still doesn’t solve the need of a mic when I’m on conference calls.
I’m just using a headset for conf calls. For music and other sounds, I’m connecting to a sound bar from laptop.
But a wired set of speakers would work just fine I think.

Did you use the adapter plates that need to be screwed into the back of the monitor?

Read through the manual, it shows how to attach them., The plates are marked top and bottom for how they should be oriented.

Would this work with the Monoprice 35in Zero-G?

Monoprice 35in Zero-G Curved Ultrawide Gaming Monitor V2 - 1800R, 21:9, 3440x1440p, UWQHD, 120Hz, AMD FreeSync, 4ms, HDMI, DisplayPort, VA
Workstream by Monoprice Adjustable Large Tilting Monitor Mount for Bigger Screens up to 42"
BEST ANSWER: Shouldn't be a problem, the monitor is VESA 100x100 which the mount accepts, and the weight is well under the 30lb max the monitor is rated to support. It's a really solid, sturdy unit that works great. I've got mine mounted directly to a backsplash on a POS counter, and it is exactly what I hoped for when I purchased it.

As the Zero-G monitor has VESA mounts, it should work fine with it. You wouldn't be able to rotate the monitor to a portrait mode because of the width of the monitor.

I am using my monitor with a laptop, I cannot get the monitor to use the full screen. It cut's off 2.5 inches on each side. How do I get the display to go to the monitors edges? I have tried everything!

BEST ANSWER: Configure it as a separate monitor, not a mirror. Or close your laptop after making sure it will not go to sleep. It is displaying at the same resolution as your main screen (the built in one) which isn't as wide.

I had the same problem. My view is now full screen but is stretched, so everything is a bit wider than it should be. My advanced display settings are 3440 x 1080.

Great Monitor!
My son absolutely loves this thing! It's great for gaming, and plenty of screen real estate for him to do his work on as well. The refresh rate is great with a decent graphics card. I know it's not an IPS panel, but at this price, it's perceptually as nice as one. I'm very impressed and glad I went with this one.

Great monitor! Refresh rate is great for gaming. Screen is crisp and clear. No dead pixels after about two years. Definitely would purchase again.

First ultra wide monitor
Didn't know it didn't have speakers but my fault for not checking and not a major problem anyway. Great deal on sale and a very nice monitor to break into ultrawides and 1440p.

On sale for $270 is an incredible deal!
Got 2 of them and it's the perfect amount of screen real estate.

Works great!
Works great! Much prefer the large wide screen to multiple monitors. I use a curved monitor (different brand) in the office. I find this monitor easier to read. I am able to leave the display size at 100% on this monitor vs 125% in the office.

Love it!
I use this for my "daily driver" PC. Crisp and clear graphics. It is nice not to need to need two monitors and it is great for those huge spreadsheets.
I cannot comment on how it works for gaming as I am not a gamer. I have played blu-ray and larger res videos on it flawlessly.

First Curved 35" Monitor - AMAZING!
This purchase has turned out to be fantastic. For the first curved 35" monitor, I am extremely happy about having this monitor. I mounted it on a 75x75 VESA configuration (purchased separately) with attachments included with this monitor, and worked perfectly. It is a great monitor and am thankful for all of the reviews previous to my purchasing this! Works well with my MacBook Pro M1 via a 4K HDMI connection.

I love this monitor
This monitor is great. I used to have two smaller monitors, attached to my laptop. It was a pain to use, I can put 10 different things on this on monitor alone. Love it.
