What is the weight limit for its use as temporary seating?

It doesn’t come with an insert where would I get one. Does it need any assembly?

Removed the casters, works well on floor.
I took the casters off, the drawer roller support (not shown in the photos), never put on the magnetic top cushion, and put this right on the floor. Worked perfectly as stand for multi-function laser printer next to desk. VERY will packed, Maybe the best packing I've seen for something so large. Protected corners, double wall box, foam everywhere, just great. 1 star off because the front bottom drawer has a little roller support on the front that is not shown in photos, and about 3" wasted space in the back of unit, drawers could have been longer, or the unit less deep.

Good quality, attractive cabinet
I love it exactly what I expected. Looks great, fits perfectly in space. The only disappointment was that I had to order an insert separately to hold hanging folders. Wish there was an option to include with purchase.
