The specifications do not mention the requirement of a neutral wire, but the manual wiring implies it is needed. Please clarify. ?

BEST ANSWER: I have installed many brands of z-wave switches, including this Monoprice one and all require a neutral connection. It is needed with the hot wire to power the electronics inside the device.

Has anybody used these with Smartthings? I just bought 2 regular switches (36737) and 2 of these dimmer switches (36738). The regular switches work great with ST, but I can't get either dimmer switch to work. They pair with the ST hub, but get added as a generic "Z-wave device" type, and do not respond to any commands. I've tried removing them and re-adding them multiple times, changing the device type in the IDE, but still get the same results. Wondering if there is any trick to getting these to work with ST before I send them back.

BEST ANSWER: How did you get to add it to ST in the first place? I initiate scanning from ST app, and immediately tap the switch once as instructed by the manual. Nothing happens.

Can't get it to work with SmartThings. Anyone know how to add it? I pick generic zwave device buy after picking network, it just sits at the screen where it says "Follow the instructions of your device, and enable Learn mode on your device"

Lasted 3 Months
Purchased two of these about 3 months ago. Both of them installed without any issues. One of them has already failed. Works OK as a switch but the Z-wave has already failed. Tried everything in the book to no avail. Will replace with a Honeywell switch. Maybe I'll have better luck with it.
