BEST ANSWER: This will only handle two computers and one display. You would be better off with something like the Monoprice 4K 4x1 HDMI 1.4 and USB 2.0 KVM Switch. Your wireless keyboard and mouse will need a USB receiver. These KVMs do not have bluetooth capability.

This only switches between 2 computers with one mouse and keyboard. It works pretty well, but I often have to reset or unplug and replugin connections to get the switching working.

If you want 4 computers connected to your monitors that will not work with this switch. It will only support two computers simultaneously without a lot of cord swapping.

BEST ANSWER: The box is really a kvm box meaning you are using 1 monitor, 1 keyboard and 1 mouse. I am assuming you are wanting to use 1 monitor for both laptops. and assuming you are using the keyboard and mouse of each laptop there would be no need for the usb A cables.. IF, you are using a single keyboard and mouse for both laptops then the usb a cables would be required and the dongle for the KB and mouse would need to be plugged into the front of the device. I hope that answers your questrion, if not please provide how you would like to use the device.

I should add that there will be no remote Keyboard or Mouse activity without the USB connections. You'd have to accomplish those tasks from the individual laptops. The screen will switch, however.

Does it support 2560 x 1440 or 3240 x 2160 with high speed HDMI cables? Description says "up to 4K" but then lists sub 2K resolutions. It's just unclear. HDMI 1.4 certainly should, even 1.3 should support 2k. Thanks.

This switch would support 4k @ 30Hz and below.
As long as you have HDMI 1.4 capable cables and displays you would have access to all the resolutions.

I have a 2k and 4k set up side by side (I've been building ultra high end machines for years on contract) and was hoping to be able to test. This won't support what I need (which really is dual DP at up to 4k 144hz) but I'll keep watching. Thanks again for your response!

BEST ANSWER: I have not had any issues with just hitting caps-lock twice rapidly, and then using 1,2 or up/down arrows. It doesn't seem to work for me reliably using the left/right arrows though. The only times I can't get it to work is if one computer is in 'sleep' mode, then I have to use the physical button on the KVM

Can I use the switching capability for the keyboard, mouse and audio only, but not for video? I want to switch the video between computers using that capability on the monitor. How would using this affect that if the monitor has multiple inputs which are connected directly to the computers. If there is no video going into this device, I am assuming that switching the other peripherals would not affect the video?

Very satisied with purchase
It came without cables except for the power cord. I prefer it this way as I can connect my peripherals directly to the box. I haven't tried hot keys to switch between inputs. Switching with the Select button works fine. I am very satisfied with my purchase.

Worked fine for 9 months
Easy to set up, generally very responsive and straightforward to use (although I disliked the hotkeys, which conflicted with existing hotkeys I already use -- unclear if there's a way to change them.) However, after nine months, one of the connected PCs began sporadically losing keyboard and mouse connectivity. I change between computers often for work, so the unreliability here is a real bummer.

I've used this for a few years now, with macOS, Windows, and Ubuntu Linux. I keep my work computer and my personal computer connected to this, and use it to switch between them at the beginning/end of my workday. It's probably a sign of either stubbornness or cheapness that I haven't replaced this device with something that works a little better.
I often have trouble getting the volume from the audio jack loud enough, especially on Windows, and even with the volume settings on both my headphones and my operating system at maximum. I've also found that I frequently need to unplug and reconnect peripherals and display connections, and/or restart connected computers, when switching devices, in order for everything to work properly, which works against the purpose of having a switch in the first place.
In spite of my mildly negative experience, this would probably work well for someone who keeps two computers turned on (without sleeping) and frequently switches between them. Most of my issues seem to be connected to booting up a computer just before I try to switch to it on the KVM.

It didn't seem to want to work with a specific video card (don't recall the brand) but when I switched to an Nvidia so both had them, it finally worked.
I will say, when working, it makes things very convenient.
