Hi does this item have audio output?

BEST ANSWER: There are no output connections on this sound bar. If you're wanting to run a subwoofer with it, you should split the signal before the sound bar. (Analog only.) Good luck! Stu

Stu is correct. Just split the line in cable and use the speaker level inputs to the sub amp. Simple and effective. At this level of product, no need to get anything more complex.

Yes. It has a standard stereo 3.5mm/8" Aux input. If you need other connections get an adapter from what you need to stereo 3.5mm/8" plug. For example - right and left RCA jack (female) to 3.5mm stereo plug (male).

Make sure you are using an optical out of the tv and not an optical in which I think most tv's don't have. Make sure the tv is set to the optical audio output setting in the tv menu and also set the tv speakers to "off" to deactivate the tv speakers. Make sure you select optical output on the soundbar controller. The light on the soundbar will light up with "OP". You should be set after that.

Two things. I cannot attest to any brand that it will or will not work with. You have to look at the first set the back of your TV to see if it's flat from the bracket holes to the bottom which many are not, and second you have to look at your bar to see if there are any screw holes or if you're going to have to drill them. This applies to all uses of this bar.

BEST ANSWER: You can BT a source of music to it such as your phone or a BT radio. If you were to BT headphones, I don't understand where the music is coming from. The input modes are either optical, BT or rca cords. So if you have optical to your tv, then you can't be in BT mode too. Hope that helps.

Dave, thanks. I guess I'll need to check if my Verizon remote will perform as a "universal" remote and control the sound bar. I know the Samsung TV permits the internal speakers to be disabled. Thanks you.
Since this soundbar does not have HDMI ARC, the optical signal from a TV will not change the volume of this soundbar.

I had a similar issue when using a Spectrum remote. First off, the Spectrum RC122 doesn't support the SB-100, so there is no way to control the SB-100 volume with anything other than the SB-100's remote control.
The really annoying thing is this - let's say you've turned up the volume with the SB-100's remote. Now let's say you want to change the channel on your set top box using it's remote. Whichever button you happen to push on your set top box remote will now cause the SB-100 to increase the volume. Basically, whatever the last function you used on your SB-100 remote will be repeated by the SB-100 when you push any button on your set top remote. The only way I was able to get this to be somewhat manageable was to hit the LUX button on the SB-100 remote after adjusting the volume. Then whenever a button was pushed on the set top box remote, it would only toggle the display on the SB-100 front panel.

I cannot get my Verizon remote to control the volume...Besides the times that buttons on the Fios remote randomly turn up the volume and any button I push continues to turn up the volume. I have to turn off the soundbar and back on to get the soundbar controller to turn the volume down.

BEST ANSWER: Without opening the speaker, I can think it is possible that there is, in fact, ONE active, internal "sub" speaker with a magnet and coil, driven by the 40w amp, and two "passive radiators" facing outward. It is fairly common to see this type of arrangement in a single speaker, I know for certain I have. The confusion is likely a result of curious wording, and it sounds more appealing to say there are Two sub speakers rather than one...

Passive Radiators have no voice coil and are powered by the bass driver backwave and not by an amp, hence my still unanswered question.

I would assume there is a single Mono 40W amp powering both passive radiators, as opposed to having stereo bass.

The soundbar does not have a subwoofer output. But... You can, if you're using the analog input (3.5mm jack), use a simple cable splitter to feed the signal into the sub _and_ the soundbar. Some of Monoprice's subs seem to have line level ins and outs, so you could feed into the sub, then out to the soundbar. Don't know of a simple way to get a subwoofer feed if you're using the digital inputs, though. Enjoy! Stu

What "codes" are you referring to? The product takes PCM input coax or light and analog 1/8th " stereo which is how I use it. I presume it has a DAC on-board or the inputs would make no sense.

The speaker itself is fine for the price that I paid.
Works great with my handheld devices and TV.
Just is frustrating having to use a second remote to control the volume level.

They are the audio experts, and they have made it sound impressive for the size. No, not huge booming base, as it has no stand alone subwoofer, but sounds good nonetheless. Does it replace an actual surround stereo, by all means no. However, if you need some extra sound from less than desireable TV or computer monitor speakers, this is a huge upgrade.

Entry level soundbar with audible humming.
The soundbar audio quality is OK for what it is, an entry level speaker, but there's an audible, ever-present humming that only shows up when sound is sent to it. What I mean by that, is that it can be powered on and the hum isn't present, but as soon as you start playing any audio from music or videos, the hum shows up. The hum happens on all input methods.

Package not complete
All my cell phones work with the sound bar, but to complete the hook up to my xfinity box (hence my TV) I have to buy an Optical Cord. I'm disappointed there wasn't any mention about problems with Cable hook ups. My frustrations are at the point that it will be awhile before I buy something again from Monoprice. I put the blame on you.

Good sound bad compatabilty
The unit sounds good and has voice enhancement, which is critical for me. Price is right, too. The bad news is that the Xfinity remote can't control the soundbar, and there is no documentation on the IR commands. If use with a universal remote is important to you, this isn't the soundbar for you.

Serves the purpose of replacing internal TV speakers.
This product is well made and for the money does everything that one would hope for when the application is to upgrade internal TV speakers. The only reason that I gave it 4 stars is its base response, although the specs clearly spec the frequency range of the product. I mean how much air can be moved with a pair 2.5" speakers?

No remote support
I purchased this to replace my insignia soundbar in my bedroom, but there isn't any remote support for Fire TV or my Samsung TV, which means I need to use the Monoprice remote to adjust the volume, in addition the remote was interfering with my ambient lighting and changing the colors as I lowered and raised the volume. It's a shame because this soundbar sounded clearer and has more base than my Insignia. but in the bedroom, I need to use only one remote I can't be fusing around with two or three remotes. not convenient.
