BEST ANSWER: 8" is the widest this bracket will fit. Probably 7+7/8 to be safe.

This houses up to an 8" wide case. Any higher means without a method to bend metal you won't get the screws in properly to hold the base into place. Additionally, the bracket that the base sits on will only cover a smaller portion of the case and could lead to instability (outside working parameters).
I bent the metal to fit my NZXT case but I wish Monoprice sold a larger version of this.

The specs indicate that the max width is 8". I wouldn't try to make it fit if yours is 8.5". However, if you have the ability to bend the steel clamp bracket, you may be able to make it work.

Can the swivel lock?
New User U
on Sep 11, 2022
BEST ANSWER: There is no locking mechanism on the swivel... but I have found it convenient that it's a bit loose since I frequently need to get behind it to switch which PC my web cam is plugged into. But the weight of the PC case should prevent it from spinning too freely.

There is a bolt that you tighten and I just found that today after having this a few months. I tighted it down to prevent it from swiveling. Its a solid lock.

Our desktops are 5/8" thick. and that worked with the screws supplied. The screws supplied were a larger diameter than what was needed, but they worked

Any options if my case is 8.25” wide?
A shopper
on Nov 24, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hi, if you are able to bend the side plate a bit but also possibly risk scratching your computer case because of the tight fit, you might be able to make this work since your case is only .25" wider than the maximum recommended size. However, product 34540 might be a better solution although it doesn't have the easy-rotation feature.

BEST ANSWER: It is possible, using the keyhole slots. However, you may be better suited just using their wall mount unit:

Thanks Jon! The wall mount, unfortunately, is slightly too large for the desktops we're planning to mount.

Mount everything
Good quality, a lot heavier duty than I thought it was going to be for the price. Easy install, good hardware and great instructions. Installed under my desk in about 15 minutes. I like mounting things to save space, and Monoprice always come through

Well designed for installation in solid furniture
This is a fantastic solid, well-designed tower holder. Unfortunately I tried to install it hanging swivel style in an Ikea pressboard shelf and the weight along with the computer was just too much. Apparently it needs to be installed in solid wood if hanging or mounted on the side if in pressboard. I sadly had to return mine because it didn't fit my needs.

Tower Holder it's okay
The design is on point with other higher end CPU Holders. The main issues are the the strength of the materials and the fasteners.
They are hard to reach when the holder is installed specially under the desktop surface. Having the right tools makes it easier. I used a 14mm wrench and 13mm socket wrench to remove the top plate to secure it to the desk first.
Installation is a 2 person operation, can be done by yourself with more effort.
Placing the Tower in the the holder is definitely a 2 person job. I don't think you want to drop or scratch your tower.
Two hands Adjusting the height of the bracket.
You need both hands to screw in the retaining screw knobs on top .
For 15 bucks it's okay. Nice paint and well packaged.
