Monoprice Consul Series USB-C Gigabit Ethernet Adapter

Monoprice USB-C Female to USB-A Male, 3.1 Gen 2 Adapter
BEST ANSWER: Yes, it will work just fine. Although I would recommend buying USB 3.0 to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter
Product # 11195 instead of the 2 units. Much cheaper and less prone to disconnecting

Monoprice USB 3.0 to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter
I have never tried with that adapter. But I did find that if you use just one USB-A, it will only transfer data and not video.

I believe that will work but why not just get an Ethernet adapter with a USB A connector?

Well, since Monoprice did not provide any OS support information, you will need to call Monoprice tech support and ask. Good luck.

Meh.
Works OK, but only connects at 100BaseT.
Before you ask, yes the switches I'm connecting to are Gigabit... Netgear M5300-52G and Netgear GS748-TPS

No 802.1q, great otherwise
Wanted to add an additional note after I submitted my initial review. This adapter does not support 802.1q so no VLAN tagging.
My Mac was happy to provision the interfaces but then they just don't pass any traffic. Swapping it out with an older Apple 100BT adapter and the tags work fine. May not be a factor for you unless you are in the networking space but might be important for some folks.
I'm still giving it 5 stars because overall it's a great adapter. Just don't find out about the lack of 802.1q support the hard way (like I did).

Great for Apple MacBook Pro
Works perfectly with MacBook Pro 2018. No additional driver needed, plug and play. I like that it has a metal case too. Color is not a bad match with my space gray laptop.
