BEST ANSWER: Yes, the Monolith desktop amp with the THX 788 modules has a USB digital input that fits this cable. The question is if your computer has standard USB output (some laptops and tablets have micro USB).

Will this work as a printer cable? My current cable, when plugged into my laptop is producing a low buzzing noise through my Bose speakers. Thought it was the 3.5mm audio cable but unplugged each cable and the printer cable is the issue.

BEST ANSWER: It's a standard A > B cable, it should work fine as a printer cable. This cable has good shielding as well, so hopefully will eliminate any interference issues you're having.

How is this cable "quad shielded?" The exploded view shows only three shields (two layers of aluminum foil, then a braided tinned copper jacket).

BEST ANSWER: Can't answer the "quad shielded" question, but can tell you that I'm using this cable from a laptop to KEF LS50 speakers and the sound is quite good. I had rather low expectations given the price point, but was pleasantly surprised at the quality. Would recommend.

Using it to connect external DAC to laptop
Replaced the cheap stock USB cable that came with a Topping external DAC. Connection kept dropping with the stock cable. With this Monoprice USB-A to USB-B cable between the DAC and my laptop, connection is stable. Problem solved.

Replacement for Original Bose Cable
After years of taping|shrink tubing my PC speakers cable, it got to the point where the original cable was not cutting it any more. Glad to say that these cables are an excellent and well-constructed replacement and I am happy with the audio quality results.

Great cable
I purchased a few on sale. On sale, these are a great deal.
The cables were purchased to cure a RF noise coming from a KVM. Unfortunately, the cables reduced, but did not eliminate the noise coming from the KVM. But that is not the fault of the cables (I checked)

USB cable replacement
I needed a longer USB A to USB B cable for connection from my computer to my DAC. I replaced my AudioQuest Forest .5M cable with the Monolith 2M cable. I must say the sound is excellent. If I would have purchased the AudioQuest 2M cable it would have cost me $80 vs Monolith $13.39. I have purchased Monoprice cables in the past, this is the first time buying their Monolith brand. I am very satisfied with my purchase. My DAC is an old NAD D1050 connected to an XTZ amp with B&W 607 speakers.

USB Cable with Incredible Value!!
Cable is very nice! The overall fit and finish is very good and its a nice looking cable. Connectors fit in corresponding receptacles securely and I expect this cable to hold up quite well. I like the color scheme quite a bit too. For under $15 I dont think you can do better than this. I think it would compare well with cables double its price. Highly recommended.
