Curious about the title? Well, if you think about it, an adapter should fade into the background pretty much the moment it's installed. So, if you're ever thinking about it after you've installed it, then it probably isn't performing well. Ergo, I never really think about the ones I bought from Monoprice....

These are performing great. The video card in my personal computer uses Display Port as does the docking station for my work laptop. But the monitors have one Display Port and one HDMI each. These adapters enable me to connect both sources and then they just work - no fuss, no complications... like I said, they never remind me that they're there.

The adapter works fine for 4K, but not for 4K HDR. I get all kinds of problems with HDR, like the screen being badly white-washed, or a sudden flicker every few seconds (very annoying).

A little digging revealed that HDR over displayport isn't actually supported before version 1.4, and this adapter is displayport 1.2.

worked as needed. The slight flexibility of the dongle allows it to plug in and still turn lengthwise for tight spaces.

I was running into an HDMI outlet bottleneck on my Nvidia graphics card, I couldn't push more than 30hz from the HDMI port. I bought this adapter and pair it with a 4K compatible HDMI cable, and boom, 60hz 4K instantly! Works like a charm
