I do not have multiple water sensors on my account, but the software interface is built to allow for the connection of multiple light bulbs, wall sockets, etc since each device has a unique MAC and IP Address. I would assume that you should be able to use multiple water sensors.

As far as I can tell, it runs only on 2.4GHz. And while I certainly don't know your network as well as you do, it is very unusual to have a network that supports only 5GHz. Are you SURE you don't have a 2.4GHz signal as well as the 5?

I had a similar problem with mine. Your router may be dual band and 2.4 is turned off. It needs to be turned on or replace the router with a dual band router or add a second 2.4 router.

BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your comments. I agree if the water leak starts at the in-coming pipe, a water sensor placed near it where water would likely be detected would be best. If the space is too tight, you also have the option to attached the probe included to extend your reach in tight spaces.

this sensor does not detect water flow. it only detects water leaks in a specific location. ie. where sensor is placed and water gathers/puddles. you would need a sensor on the ground at each location you want to be alerted.

Water can leak from anywhere but especially at valves and devices. It can also simply come thru walls as ground water or flooding. I put mine near major water appliances and near where the floor slopes down and would collect therefore covering a couple appliances with one device. Also placed in “water rooms” bathrooms near sink/toilet or by dishwasher. Also put anywhere where water had collected in the past. But yes entry point of water could potentially be a large leak spice due to highest water pressure. But I’d guess most leaks come from faulty appliances.

On this page (Family Settings) select the add members put in the new phone number and set them as the administrator. I think they will then get a text that they can set an email address. I could not find a way to change the email or cell phone number either. However, there appear to be two other options:
1. Add the new email and cell number as an additional Family Member in the Home Management -> Family settings section. Using this option the old email/cell number will still be notified, in addition to the new "family member".
2. Log out and re-register using the new email address and cell number, just as you did when you first registered your device.
Hope this helps.

Can you use a ac adapter instead of batteries? Does it have a network plug or blue tooth ... In other words, how does it connect to internet to contact you when you are away?)

BEST ANSWER: The device is powered by batteries and cannot be connected to an AC adapter. To connect the device to your home network, power on the device and with the STITCH by Monoprice app, pair the device to your home's 2.4GHz Wifi network. When you are away, the device will provide a notification to your phone whenever water is detected.

It has an ultra low power co-processor so the battery will last a very long time if you don't play with it too much. It sits by doing nothing most of the time.

It appears that you can have one. There is an option to change the number, but I don't see any way to add a number. (But I could be wrong.)

There is no point in receiving a notification of a leak if you are not home to stop the water flow. Can this thing be set up to send a command to an electric valve to turn the house water off when a leak is detected?

Does this sensor work with the Tuya / Smart Life APP?
Joaquin A
on Sep 30, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes, I am using the Tuya app to control it and it works fine. Just choose sensor as the new device when setting up... then push and hold the button inside the Stitch to get the red LED flashing fast. Then it will pair up with Tuya.

Does the unit have sensors built in? Do you have to use the remote sensor, or can you lay the unit flat on the floor without it?
Tom D
on Aug 14, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The unit has three sensor built-in and could be found at the bottom of the unit. Simply lay the unit flat on the floor so once the device touches water you will receive a notification and an audible alert to signal you. Additionally, the extended probe also has extra sensor built-in so it's convenient to extend your reach.

Any IoT system with network connectivity is likely to have security vulnerabilities in its firmware, and firmware updates are usually required to prevent exploitation of those vulnerabilities. How will Monoprice release and deliver these updates when a vulnerability is inevitably found on this product?
A shopper
on Aug 17, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Updates on firmware would be pushed through the STITCH app. To check for updates you can also go into the app menu profile, and check for any updates available in the "About" settings.

Is the purchase of an account required to set up notifications? Is it as simple as purchasing the device, downloading the app, integrating the unit with my WiFi network and then I get push notifications on my cellphone in case of a flood?

BEST ANSWER: You are correct, there's no need to purchase an account for notifications. Simply purchase device, download free app, pair with Wifi Network, and you will get notifications once a leak is detected. No subscription fee either.

Worthless, doesn't stay connected
Sat in my closet for too long, figured it would work but was wrong.
I can configure to connect to wifi, but won't connect after initial setup so its not usable. Back into the closet it went, and I still need a leak detector.

No way to know if the Battery is dead
There is no way to know if the battery dies or there is an connection problem. It only seams to update the battery level if water level is detected.

Super easy to install and well worth the money
I waited till the weekend to install it because I thought it may take some time but then when I installed it I realized it only took about 10 minutes and was super easy. I am very impressed with the ease of installation and how well it works.

It's WIFI wireless, not Z-Wave
If that's what you want then buy it. It looks exactly like a Z-Wave model I bought elsewhere and I made the mistake because it does not say in the description that it's WIFI, only that it is wireless and Z-wave and Zigbee are wireless too. Since I had bought several Z-Wave devices from Monoprice I assumed it was Z-Wave. After shipping it back I lost about $8. Hardly worth it but I couldn't use it.

GREAT DEVICE BUT CAN’T CONNECT TO ALEXA DEVICES.
My home has developed ’septic issues’ and needless to say, a prompt alert to water overflow is essential. So far, STITCH as served this function with flying colors. When water is detected by the sensor, the main unit beeps and flashes—but neither is sound enough to be heard in a different room, let alone on another house level. The good news is than my iPhone 7 alerts sends a warning message and audio alert. Of course, ones phone has to be powered, turned on and on one’s person or night table. If one leaves their phone in the wrong pocket or purse, the technology is useless. It was my understanding that STITCH works with ALEXA—but I will have to call customer service because that task is anything but easy. Assuming that matter can be resolved, MONOPRICE'S WATER LEAK DETECTOR could be a life saver, home and marriage saver.

got what I expected
It was with wonder that I set these up, as they are only $20 bucks each, and they do alot for that price, in my opinion.
First, you can use the main unit directly, as it has 3 metal sensors for feet, and if they get wet it goes off, or you can put the main unit into a holder(which disables the main unit from being a sensor, for some wierd design reason) and then you can plug in a 3.5 MM sensor on a cord, and use that to detect water. Maybe they want you to buy two sensors, to detect leaks in two areas?
Then you get access to the stitch app, which worked fine on my phone, and then that has the ability to integrate into my google home network, not that I needed to integrate it, as there is no voice commands I can think of to send to these little guys.
I bought 6 of these, and all 6 tested and worked, and 5 of them are deployed in my house now. I feel much safer from water leaks for a small investment,.

Just what I wanted
Wanted an inexpensive way to monitor a hot water heater in my basement. This was the answer. Twist it to open, remove plastic strip to activate battery, close cover. It found the network without too much trouble (got it on two attempts). Tested it in a puddle on my counter. Alarm beeped. Phone notification was sent. Plugged in the remote sensor extension. That passed the puddle test also. Set it in the basement on a low shelf next to the HW heater and the extension sits on the floor next to the heater.
Hope I never get a real alert but this should save me if I ever do. My experience is that the HW heater leaks a bit before flooding the basement, so this hopefully is the best $15 insurance policy I can have.
