Are the controls on the desk base lighted/ backlit? Do they stay lit at all times? Is there a way to turn off the backlight?
A shopper
on Jul 30, 2020
BEST ANSWER: They do not light up at all. There is, however, a LED back lit readout as to the hight the desk is currently at. It is a good deal but I am beginning to have trouble with the down function - it must have a safety because it appears to be hanging up and there are a few clunks coming from inside the legs. I wrote to MONOPRICE for help and advice but heard nothing back so far.

The Control Buttons themselves are not Backlit. They are black with clear white numbering. There is a digital display that will tell you what height your desktop is, and after you push he buttons to adjust the height, it turns off after a few seconds.

I don’t see any real backlighting but there’s a small LCD area in the corner that lights up with white characters on the black background when you press a button to show the height or mode. It turns off automatically after a couple seconds.

Mine aren't backlit. I press the button to activate the display, press it again to the desired preset, and after a period of time, the display goes black again. My office is very dark otherwise! Hope that helps. :D

The physical control buttons are not backlit. The LCD height display is only lit during operation of the controls and automatically turns off a few seconds after the desk stops moving.

Will this work with a glass table top?

You attach the standing-desk base to the desk top with screws, so I think a glass table top will only work if you have an alternate plan for securing the top to the base.

I would say no. It’s possible with suction cups in the screw holes but it wouldn’t be very stable. I wouldn’t try it.

I'm 5'2. Would the standing desk be too high if I am seated?
A shopper
on Aug 23, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Hi, you'll probably get more height adjustment options with our dual motor desks like the 15722. They go approximately 4 inches lower at minimum height.
For this desk, it would be best to measure your ideal height when your are sitting down and with your elbows and shoulders at a comfortable and natural level. Adjustable chairs would be a big help, sometimes footrests could expand your adjustment options as well.

How long are the feet? Can the motor be mounted on the left instead of the right?
Craig F
on Aug 22, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi, the motor is mounted on one of the legs, so it has to be assembled a certain way, as pictured. Although you can't switch the motor between the two legs, if you really need the motor on one side, you could flip the desk itself to get the motor on the correct side, and position the controller as desired.

I am looking to make a craft table top 60" by 80". Would this handle that size of top?
A shopper

BEST ANSWER: I mounted mine to a door reinforced with plywood 2 months ago. The legs are at close to full extension at 60". I have 2 laptops, 3 monitors, a PC and UPS on it, with the PC and UPS putting a little more weight on the leg with the drive. For standing, I have to raise it to 113", and there's sometimes a wobble when I bump it, but not when typing. Very stable. Your biggest concern will be the weight with that size top.

Study single motor legs
I built a custom desk with these legs and a cut down kitchen island butcher block from home depot to fit into the corner of my room. As a tall dude concerned with having a more ergonomic desk solution, these legs work wonderfully. They were easy to assemble, program my preferred preset heights, and attach to my desktop. There is a slight wobble at the very highest setting, but I'm 6'4" and I don't even have it at the highest setting, so no wobbles at all for me! The included cord/power brick cage is a nice touch too for cable management. Definitely a great day of electronic desk legs.

Fantastic adjustable standing desk with memory settings
I paired this with the matching black curved desktop
It was a lil pricey, but I will never ever be without one of these ever again. The settings for raised and lowered take only seconds to put where you want and the transition is fast
I honestly don' tknow how I ever didn't have one of these before. Now that I work from home full time this is an absolute MUST. Easy to assemble with minimal headache and heavy duty enough for multiple large monitors.
Fantastic product. Wish I'd have gotten one years ago, frankly.

So far so good
Gave this to my son for Christmas. I couldn?t find any complete desks that had stellar reviews. I finally landed at Monoprice and saw much better reviews of powered leg assemblies. Ordered this set, picked up a top from IKEA, and put it together Christmas night. It took about 20 minutes and was simple and straight forward. The motor hums nicely and effortlessly so far. The 3 programable stops are a nice feature. Obviously it will take a while to test out the motor/control longevity, but super please thus far.

Excellent standing desk. Fully satisfied
This was my first monoprice product I've purchased, and I was slightly apprehensive of what the quality would be considering the relatively cheap price. I'm pleased to say any apprehension has sizzled away and I am very pleased with the quality of the desk. The directions were clear, and I got the feeling that the company wanted to deliver a quality product. The frame is built-well, functions well, and pulled out all the stops to deliver a quality product such as an included cable management accessory, pads for the desk to gently sit on top of. I did not have the issue some reported of the desk's lowest position sitting slightly higher. This will depend on the thickness of the desk they use. Just do your measurements beforehand and test the height before you buy it... I'd recommend anyone who's considering a standing desk frame choose Monoprice and save a few hundred dollars from other options.

Excellent desk!
I bought this desk wondering if I should've gotten the dual motor setup. Not necessary - this one is fantastic and impresses everyone who sees it. This is a good purchase for anyone who works remotely. Would recommend pairing it with the ikea linnmon table top (if you know the mounting points and don't put much weight on the middle) for the ultimate affordable ergo setup.

Incredible Potential
I sent these legs to a local craftsman (Kase Customs), and he made me this GORGEOUS tabletop. He had no problem securing the legs to the custom tabletop, and the total price (about $800, legs + tabletop + assembly) was on-par with the other, generic standing desks I was looking for. This desk is the absolute envy of everyone who visits, and I use the standing feature CONSTANTLY. The legs move very smoothly, and the presets are an amazing feature. Pair them with monitor stands that lift your monitors up or down, and you've got a very functioning, aesthetic workspace. Highly recommend this purchase!
