It is the frame only. It does not include a surface. What you see in the pictures is what you get.

Does this have collision control? What happens when the desk hits something either going up or down?
New User U
on Mar 12, 2019
BEST ANSWER: No it does not have any sensor like that. You can hold the up or down button if you’re concerned and want a bit more control, rather than using presets. But I would recommend ensuring you have the proper clearance the deak would need to move either up or down.

Yes it does. That was my question before buying it. I can confirm that it does. I left my chair up too high and my kiddo hit the low button. It stopped and elevated a little bit.

Is there an adjustment lockout? Can't tell you the number of times I or coworkers have leaned against the controller on adjustable desks and sent them cruising down on someone's legs/chair. If not, I'd request that as a feature enhancement for the next version of the product, as I consider it a must-have.

BEST ANSWER: Hi, thanks for your suggestion. For this desk, there is a controller sleep mode that initiates after 2 minutes of no activity. In this mode, the first press just wakes up the controller. Our dual motor desk, product 21590, has a lock feature that deactivates the controller after 90 seconds and requires the user to manually unlock by holding down a button for 3 seconds. Hope this helps. Thanks.

I do not preset the desk to start or stop at any point. Therefore, I must keep my finger on the keypad for continued adjustment in either direction (up or down). I also place the key pad about an inch away from the edge of the desk. I do not touch the keypad if I lean against the desk. I do not know if the sit-stand has a “lock-out” feature through programming. There is no visible switch or “lockout switch on the desk. If there are are children in the home, the lockout programmable feature is necessary if it does not already exist.

No. No lock out. Doesn't need one. First, the first "touch" just wakes it up - so you would have to be really clumsy to make it move accidentally. Second, you can put the controller anywhere you want (I suggest out of your way?). Third, it moves very slowly, so no one is getting crushed. Might I recommend to Monoprice that you just ignore this "must-have" and just put a sticker on it saying "for 11 years and up"? This way you don't have to change something that works and people can't suit you - kind of like what they did with the little silicone packets you find in your shoe box reminding people they are not candy.

BEST ANSWER: I solved this by doing the reset operation. I had to power off / on the unit, press the down button to lower it all the way, then press and hold down again until RST showed on the display. The unit then lowered down to the *actual* lowest height.

I'm also having this problem, and can't find a solution anywhere. This issue has actually gotten worse since buying the desk, and even using a tall drafting chair at max height isn't quite enough for the lowest/"73cm" setting anymore, since it's actually much higher.

Edit: I finally figured out the problem and solution! It seems the lower container stop was set too high. I unplugged the controller power for about 10 minutes, plugged it back in, and held the down arrow for a few seconds to get it into "rSt" (reset) mode, which allowed me to lower it all the way down!

BEST ANSWER: I am not totally sure, but keep in mind that even if the motor can deal with the weight of the top , there will be the weight of what sits upon it. (we have the shorter top)
We have two large monitors (LED 23 inch) and a laptop and the motor appears to manage the load well.

Can this frame support a 70" top?

There is a rod that is inserted into the motor bit that connects both legs. There are some black parts that can be finger tightened both near the motor and towards the other end to ensure the rod raises the legs with the help of the motor. Please see the instruction booklet on how to properly seat this rod so the motor works on both sides.

I installed this stand on my 59-long IKEA table. Three monitors, each 24" wide, are placed on this table. The stand works perfectly well. The installation was a little tricky, but I could do it by myself (a woman, 50). For me, it's an excellent purchase and a great improvement for my health.

Absolutely fantastic. Easy to assemble, and works great. Built a custom top for it (62x30x.75) and mounting it was super easy. Raises and lowers so smoothly, even my floating monitors dont wobble. Can't recommend it enough, and can't imagine how it could be better.

Great adjustable and customizable frame
This is a great standing desk frame! I looked all over the internet for options and this one is really unbeatable for the price! It has a more precise height adjustment control panel than I originally thought. I didn't see in the description that it has a digital readout and thought it might be discounted for that. However it does, and is discreet because it goes in dark mode when not in use. Great feature!
I set my frame width at max to accommodate an Ikea Möllekulla countertop and it works perfectly as a mega-sized workbench-style surface.
Highly recommend!!
