Does this have any kind of cable management? We're looking at purchasing these and putting them into a 2x3 (6-pack) combination, but I wasn't sure how power could run to each easily if they are at different heights.

Monoprice 3-piece Desktop for Motorized and Manual-Crank Height Adjustable Desks, Black
BEST ANSWER: There is a small cable management box that attaches to the main cross bar underneath of the tabletop. We have similar setups and used surge protectors with 10' chords. The surge protector fits nicely inside the cable management box along with the power adapter for the table. This way, each desk has their own surge protector that moves up and down with the desk. We also used Adhesive Cable Clips to attach the extension chord to the inside of one of the legs. Just be sure to leave enough slack for when the desk is raised into the standing position.

It’s a nice product and works well but it has a single power cord, going to a single power pack and then motor controller, and then the motor. You would have to plug each one in to a power strip individually and then raise and lower each table separately - I can’t see anyway that six would be able to go up and down all in synchrony from one controller. If you are asking about simple cable routing, it is just a normal 110v cord coming down from each table - you could plug that in wherever you want and all 6 in a power strip would be no problem. The motor controllers also can be mounted on any edge of a top that you install, so they could be somewhat grouped.

In our case, I have bought a 8' extension cord (white because my table is also white) and attached it with white zip ties along the legs of the table. Then I made sure that there was enough slack from the extension cord to cover the range of different heights. Home Depot has these cool extension cords with designs that will make the look more appealing. We use our table as a craft table and we connect all of our tools to the same extension cord that the table is connected to. Hope this helps.

There is not much there to attach cables to. I Just put some small screws directly into the underside of the desk for cable clips. and then ran my cords where ever I needed them. Worked great for me. For 1 power source attaching all 6 desks, you will need cords hanging down with extra length so you can adjust them at random and not have any issues. Any desk system you use will have this same "cable" problem though.

There is a small try that can be placed anywhere on the center crossbar and locked into place. It is only about 16-20 inches wide (my estimate now when I am away from the desk), which I have found to be barely enough space for the cord management needed underneath the desk. I believe there were a few small sticky clips to hold the cords for the button module, but not enough for additional cords not provided.

Yes.
There is a cable management system. However, I had to allow extra length on the internet cord. I also attached a five outlet power cord extension on the stationary part of the leg of the desk. All of my equipments are plugged into the extension. The extension cord Itself is plugged into the wall outlet. Hope this helps.

Yes, it comes with a round adhesive clip that you can stick to the underside of the desk to hold the cables. There is also a tray that mounts underneath that will hold cables you lay in it. You can make it look pretty tidy even when moving between different heights.

It has a small tray on the horizontal bar that holds the power supply for the motor and a couple of stick-on cable holders to support the power cable going from tray to motor and control. That tray can hold a couple more items.

It just has the holes in the surface of the desk top. No other cable management. Monoprice does offer a number of add-on cable management pieces that would probably work for you.

Would this work on a desk with drawers?

BEST ANSWER: Hi, depends on the top. There are some desktops that have some thin drawers that could work. As long as there are solid mounting points to keep the desk secure. Also consider the height that the desktop with drawers might add to make sure the surface won't sit too tall when you are sitting down.

No problem. Nothing more than I can think of, the base has a limit on weight amd when you add things, computer, monitor or just decor, I just worry you may hit the limit fast. I use mine for working at home now just have an 1/2 board and then all my stuff. Smooth, quiet, and love the memory settings. Good Luck!
Probably won't work with a desk that has underside drawers.

My desk's TOP surface is just over 30.5" high, with the adjustable height at the lowest setting and some carpet sliders added to the base.. I'd measure your current desk as a starting point. just know that the lowest setting puts you at about that 28" mark for the bottom of your desk ( as desk top thickness is going to vary|) I find myself standing about 75% of the time, and sitting the other 25%. Can this be used for a corner desk?
A shopper
on Oct 31, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I would not think so. Most corner desks are no wider than 40/42 inches at the widest point. The narrowest this contracts to is just under 40 inches. If it's a triangular corner desk and needs to be centered, you would need something probably under 36" wide. Realistically probably somewhere closer to 28" wide. If it's a corner as in an L shape, you would need an L shaped base, this will not support the return.

If you found an appropriately sized and shaped top to have it fit then yes. Be aware the extra material sticking out of the back to fit into the corner will increase the torque load on the lifting mechanism for anything heavy placed on that part of the top.

I purchased my desk over a year ago. I had to move since then and took my desk apart and reassembled at the new place. Somewhere since I first bought the desk, something happened because my desk only lowers to about 34 inches, which is very high for me while sitting in my office chair. I can see there is much more space under the table for it to go lower but the motor won't let me go any lower. Is there a way to reset the height to 28 inches?

BEST ANSWER: There is a way to press the buttons to "reset" the desk bringing it back to its lowered position. I would suggest searching in the manual (can find it online or from uline customer service I believe).

I solved this by doing the reset operation. I had to power off / on the unit, press the down button to lower it all the way, then press and hold down again until RST showed on the display. The unit then lowered down to the *actual* lowest height.

I would start with the User Guide for the controls. Perhaps resetting will restore full motion.
You might also verify that nothing in the gears is preventing the desk from lowering further.

What is the recommended min/max depth for the table top?
VP
on Mar 19, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi, just confirming the previous answer that the minimum depth for a desktop would be 22.4", which is the length of the top support. But we would recommend at least 27.6", which is the length of the desk feet, to allow for the desktop be positioned flush to a wall with no gaps. Maximum depth would be limited by total weight and also by the amount of overhang that your desktop material can tolerate. Around 3 feet deep would be a reasonable maximum recommendation for most solid core desktops, but it would be best to consult the manufacturer of information about the specific desktop material to see how much overhang it could work with. Hope this helps.

The minimum would be 22.4 inches and the max would be limited by the max weight of 165lbs (if that makes sense); If you look at the optional desktop options, they range from 29 to 31.5 inches so staying around those would be pretty safe.

Can the control panel be mounted on the left side of the desk?
A shopper
on Jun 29, 2020
BEST ANSWER: I don't have a tape measure handy. The power adapter cord has plenty of room for that, but the cable that plugs in from the control panel to the motor is only about 2 ft long, but it's a coiled cable. Also, the control panel has about 10" of cabling coming out to connect into the coiled wire going to the motor. The coil is about 8 inches or so long and stretches to maybe 3 times it's size, maybe getting to get you to up to 4 feet max, probably, which would always keep tension on the power cable going to the motor. It's seems to be pretty stout wiring though. If your desktop is around 3 ft-4ft wide, you might be able to get it over on the left - but would seem a bit stretched to me..

How far apart can the legs be? Also will a 24x60 desktop work with this
A shopper

BEST ANSWER: I think a 24 x 60 top should work fine. I have the 3 piece 60" worksurface that goes as a companion to this base and it is about 29" deep at the outer edges and about 24 inches in the center as the front edge of the desk is curved. not straight. The legs are almost the width of the table top so without measuring, I would guess the legs can go at least 58".

How to adjust the width?

BEST ANSWER: The width of the assembly can be adjusted on the crossmember between the two vertical legs.
The structural crossmember is made of two pieces held together by screws that can be loosened to adjust to different widths as shown in the product pictures.
The drive shaft of the up and down motor that also has an adjustment on the shaft that can be adjusted to work with different widths.

What is the difference between version 1 and version 2? What makes the version to a hundred dollars better?
Michael Z
on Sep 2, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hi, version 1 is a single motor desk, while version 2 has dual motors, one on each leg.
The dual motor version moves a bit smoother and quieter, is easier to assemble, and has a more stable and supportive frame with two parallel bars. It has a 3-stage leg that can go lower, a slightly higher maximum load, and it can can be adjusted wider. This desk is more heavy-duty and is recommended for users who change height settings more frequently throughout the day.
The single motor version has similar materials and build quality but is a scaled down version that uses one motor. It takes a second or two longer to accelerate to full speed, and has a slightly lower rated maximum load. The motor itself is quiet and sounds similar to the dual version, there is just a different sound from the connecting rod that links the 2 legs. It uses 2-stage legs that do not go as low as the dual version at the lowest setting. The top frame is slightly narrower as well. It has the same capabilities and functions, but some specs were just scaled down to provide this practical version.
Hope this helps.

What is the maximum recommended width of the desktop this frame can support?
Jude L
on Sep 24, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hi, this desk frame adjusts to have up to 63" in width and you can use a desktop that is a bit wider, depending on the material and structure of your desktop. It would be best to ask the desktop's manufacturer since some materials might not tolerate unsupported overhangs well. If using Monoprice desktops, this frame works best with the 4ft and 5ft desktops (Products 21601-21604 and 33085-33086), but the 6ft ones (Products 21605-21606) can work with it as well. Thanks.

BEST ANSWER: Hi, there's no easy way to modify this desk frame to get that narrow since the frame is made of metal and was not designed to go smaller. However if you are good with DIY work and you really want to make the desk smaller, you could saw off 4 metal square tubes on the top frame and drill 4 holes to relocate tightening screws. You would probably need to tap the holes so the screws can tighten.

Reset the controller first!
When I first set this up, I thought that it only went down about 36.75". I looked online, and saw that you can reset the controller. Once I did that, it went down to a more standard height of about 28 inches. I'm not sure why it was shipped that way. Once I put a solid wood top on this, along with a monitor swing arm mount, I've been pretty happy with the setup.

Awesome desk, wider width and settings are worth the price
The single motor is plenty for a 1-1/2" maple top plus dual monitors. Does not show signs of struggle at all. This desk is also worth the extra price for the programmable heights (One for sitting, standing, and one with a balance board).
