Will this work with GoPro Hero 7 ?

BEST ANSWER: Works just fine and it is a USB 3 Cable not 2.0 not sure why it is listed as 2.0. I am using this on my GP7 and also my Galaxy Note8 and it accepts the fast charge and syncing for everything I have used it with. Great quality cable as well.

I don't have a Hero 7 but this cable is only USB 2.0 so it will probably charge OK but will transfer files much more slowly than a USB 3 cable would

I honestly don’t know as I got them for my iPad Pro. I hope the Samsung phone is better than their appliances. My electric stove top cracked while cooking and Samsung wouldn’t replace it even though it was under warranty claiming something must have been dropped on to it.

I have a iPad Pro 11" with a USB-C connector. I would like to connect it to a computer and I don't have a USB-C connector on it. But I have many USB ports. Does this cable will work for my iPad connected on the computer (USB 2.0 ports) ? Thanks.

Since the iPad would have the proper USB-C port and your computer has a USB-A port this will work no problem.

Keep in mind that this is USB A on one end. So while it will communicate just fine (but slower than the USB C) most computer USB ports are only capable of .5A (2.5W) and even the better ones are usually only 1A (5W). Some dedicated chargers are more. By Comparison the dedicated USB C GaN charger I use (from Monoprice) for my iPad Pro is 78W. So if you are planning to charge your iPad with it, it is going to be pretty slow. It just depends on what you are trying to accomplish. I usually charge my phone from my computer, but the iPad pro takes too long.

I actually just noticed that the description says it is a 2.0 cable, so technically it should only have to support .5A charging (2,4W), but I have successfully used it as a USB 3.0 cable with .9A (4.8w) for years without issue. Still, even 4.8W is at least an overnight charge with an iPad Pro. If you want fast charging get one of the GAN chargers and a USB C cable..

Will it fast charge with Samsung Note 9 or will it not be recognized by the phone and only slow charge?
I bought some other non-OEM cables and the phone slows charging down to slow charge speeds and don't want to deal with that if I order these.

What is the maximum watts that the cord can handle? If I plug it into a 45W charger, will the the phone receive the full 45W (using a Samsung S20 Ultra, which can handle 45W)? If not, how many watts of power can it transfer?
Tracie P
on Jul 24, 2020
BEST ANSWER: This depends on your charger, if it handles the correct PD (Power Delivery) spec. The cable supports at least PD 2.0, so if your charger and phone can make the proper connection, you will see peak 45 watt charging. The cable has no factor in this exchange, except the ability to support both the protocol and the power requirement, which this cable does. This cable will theoretically handle up 60 watts (PD mode 20 volt x 3 amps), but this is typically only supported by larger devices, think large tablets and laptops. YMMV.

The Monoprice AtlasFlex Series USB Type-C to USB Type-C cable (i.e., Product # 39643) is rated at 5A/100W. Two questions:
1. What is the ampere and wattage rating of this cable (i.e., AtlasFlex Series USB Type-A to USB Type-C cable Product # 31201)?
2. If Product # 31201 has a different amp & wattage rating than Product # 39643, other than the USB-A vs. USB-C connector, how is it made electrically different?

Good quality, good value
When on sale, these cables are great to have. Sturdy plugs on both ends with good strain relief. The bright color makes it easy to spot and pick out when there's a tangle of other cables nearby or when under furniture. Decent length reaches from an outlet to desk or table without trouble most of the time.

Works, and seems durable
This cable can do USB 2.0 High Speed (480Mbps) but not SuperSpeed (5Gbps) because it lacks the superspeed pins. It's also fine for charging at 5 volts.
It would be nice if it didn't have cancer-causing chemicals in it, but at least it doesn't have any toxic metals.
Seems very durable, during the few weeks I've owned it so far.
