Is it red in color, or orange?

BEST ANSWER: The ends have more of an orange tint to them. The cable a bit more red. It would definitely be difficult labeling the exact color for this product to a single color. You could honestly ask 2 different people and get 2 different answers.

Hello, the cable is definitely red in color when viewed in person. It is a lighter shade of red at the strain reliefs, with the braided cable being a slightly darker red. This is also one of the most durable cables I’ve owned to date.

It is all very red in natural light, but the reinforcements can take on a bit of an orange and the cable a brassy tint depending on your lighting.

The plastic connector part on the end is almost orange; the braided rest of it is a bright shiny scarlet red, almost iridescent.

BEST ANSWER: The Luxe has fancier, metal ends, but regular strain reliefs, while this cable has "ordinary" plastic ends but an extra strong strain relief, This cable also has Kevlar in the nylon braiding of the cable cover, which should make it more cut and abrasion resistant than the regular nylon braid of the Luxe series cables. .

Failed After 2.5 Years
This cable has been perfect for my use case. After 2.5 years of daily use, the cable no longer carries power. I have tried cleaning out the pins thinking there was a faulty contact due to built up grime. One minor cosmetic issue I did notice is that the nylon braiding started to fray a bit at different points. I don't think this affected anything but I am pointing this out.
I will be updating this review after I put the "Lifetime Warranty" to the test.

Another Good Monoprice Cable
So far, so good. I would rate it 5 stars, but longevity is the piece I will not know about for some time. It is robustly made, so I have high hopes.
I have Monoprice HDMI cables that I recommend, but they are in a static home entertainment installation unlike this lightning cable that gets daily plugging, unplugging, twisting, bending, etc.

Not so flexible
The durability of this cable feels like it will withstand rough handling but with that comes the flexible part. The cable is very stiff and thick which makes it a little less flexible. For my use it works just fine.

Works but way too stiff
Cable works great but is very stiff, too the point where it's only good for limited use. I had originally purchased the cable for use in tight spaces (airplane flight deck), but now use it for charging at night on a night stand.

Starts off strong, hope it lasts as well.
The cord seems substantial and the tips robust. As always, the proof is in the durability -- how long they last before they start reporting data errors and failing to charge depending on how the cable is flexed at the tips. I haven't had the cable long enough to determine this.
