Hi Can you use this amp with your Sycamore Outdoor 2.1 Speaker System? Would be interested in driving a total 2 subs and 8-10 satellite speakers, if not, what would you recommend? Thank you in advance.

1 subs and 4 speakers is the desired load for a 200w unity, running 2 subs and 8-10 speakers is an ask for the 200w. However, if you are going to do it a single 450w unity would be better or daisy chaining 2 200w unity using RCA with 1 sub and 4 speakers off each amp. To each there own, but in short the single 200w might be able to do the job but, more amplification is better especially if you have a large distance between the amp and speakers.

I used two Sonos amps with mine. I did one sub and four satellite speakers. Not sure on the amp you have picked. I also put two outdoor speakers on the house. They are awesome. It’s sounds great. I will be ordering a couple more Satellite speakers just for back up if mine quits working. You won’t be disappointed the are great.

Youd need a 70v system to safely run the speakers in parallel or add in a speaker selector between the amp and satillite speakers

It would work fine. 2 of these amps in bridged mode would be better and add a little dynamic headroom.

Hello, I would like to connect 8 speakers together with 2 subwoofers like the manual states. I was thinking of purchasing the Monoprice Unity 450 W Amplifier to push all 8 speakers and two subwoofers. Is this the best option or should i purchase two separate 200watt unity amplifiers for each unit? I would also like to run two additional speakers off my Yamaha amp so a total 10 speakers and two subwoofers. What do you recommend?

It’s not clear what your trying to do. Are you using the amp to add additional powered channels to an A/V receiver to set up an Atmos surround system or are these discrete speakers.
As far as driving subwoofers you need a purpose designed amp for low frequencies not a full range amp. Normally these are powered subwoofers or a special amp supplied with a LFE signal from the A/V receiver.

This is a question for someone familiar with the Sycamore system. The 450W amp is rated for 4-8 ohms so you have to be concerned with overdriving or under driving the amp with regard to the resistive load when you use more than 2 speakers. The amp only has connections for 2 speakers.

I want to power a sub and 4 satellite receivers and am looking at two different AVR units that would drive these speakers as a second zone. The first receiver is preferable for other reasons (Denon AVR-S950H) and outputs speaker level output on 4 speaker terminals at 90W + 90 W (8 Ω/ohms, 20 Hz – 20 kHz with 0.08 % T.H.D.) / 125 W + 125 W (6 Ω/ohms, 1 kHz with 0.7 % T.H.D.). Would this be enough power to the system? I was thinking that if it was enough power I could avoid buying a power amplifier and hook the sub directly up to these 4 speaker terminals.
If not I would get the other receiver (Denon DRA-800H) which powers two pre-outs at 100 W + 100 W (8 Ω/ohms, 20 Hz – 20 kHz with 0.08 % T.H.D.). and buy an amplifier to put between the AVR and the sub,,

BEST ANSWER: Works great sounds amazing because the subwoofer employs a 2-way, 12db crossover at 200Hz, so it uses all frequencies below 200Hz and sends all frequencies above 200Hz to the satellite speakers. All you need is a 4-conductor wire to run from the amp to the subwoofer, then a shorter pair of 2-conductor wires run from the sub to the satellites.

The satellites can be wired directly to an amplifier. The specs show they are 16 ohm each, so you can double or triple up satellites in parallel on each channel. Refer to your amplifier specs to see how low a resistance the amp can drive. The satellites are just so-so at lower frequencies, so you may want to adjust your EQ.
If you have the 2.1 combo, then you should wire the satellites through the sub because the sub will peel off the low frequencies for itself, passing only the higher frequencies to the satellites so each produces the best possible sound. If your amp can do this for you with a separate sub output, then either wiring strategy is fine, but in the context of a simple stereo amplifier the recommended wiring pattern through the sub will produce the best sound.

Both amps can run stereo to the subs. You can splice the extra speakers off the sub or from the first set of sats. I would run minimum 14AWG cable. If the total run is more than 100' I would run 12AWG. The overall volume will require 2 volume controls, one for each amp.

The setup I want to have is the following: I'd like to have 4 satellite speakers using the same sub but I'd like to switch audio between 2 satellites while still using the 1 sub for the lows. Then, when the party is big enough, I'd like to be able to use all 4 satellites at once. In other words, can I play sound using 2 satellites at a time or all 4 satellites when needed but using the same sub? What amplifier would I need to do this? SUB - Tie the left and right positive input leads together and the negatives together and attach to the +/- of the amp left channel. Do the same =for the other sub to the right channel of the amp. Use sub woofer outs as normal.
SATELLITE - you can safely wire 4 sat. speakers to each sub, 2 on the left out, and 2 on the right out. It is probably easier to wire all 4 directly to the sub as the terminal on the satellites are quite small and may be difficult to get two sets of wires in there to make the parallel connection.

Planning my outdoor setup and have a few questions. I'm leaning towards connecting my Sonos Port to 2-Unity 450s to power two sets of Sycamore Outdoor 2.1 Speaker Systems with an additional four satellites (2 subs / 8 satellites total). I've seen mixed recommendations regarding bridging and I'm confused about Left / Right speaker placement in a larger outdoor area. Few Qs below:
If bridging, do I connect one RCA output from the Sonos Port to each amp? If so, do the sub/speakers connected to each amp only get one channel (left or right).
If using stereo, do I use a 'Y' splitter on each RCA port on the Sonos Port to connect both left and right channels to each amp?
Any recommendations for placing left and right speaker channels in a larger outdoor space surrounding a pool area?
Should each pair of left and right channels be close in proximity and directed at a certain sub-area of the overall space?
Possible to combine left and right channels to each amp so each speaker outputs both left and right eliminating placement challenges?
Am I overthinking this???

BEST ANSWER: I used a y splitter for the input. And ran one 4.1 setup to each amp. And speaker placement I spaced them out about 6 feet apart and alternated left and right channels. System sounds great. I just hope it survives the snow.

I am looking for more info regrading more than 4 satellites per sub. I have an amp that is stable down to 2 ohms per channel. What would the issue be? would there just be less power going to the each satellite? Would harm come to subwoofers crossover?

What type of connector is needed for to connect the speaker wire to the satellite speakers?

BEST ANSWER: There are two set screws on the speakers for connecting stripped wire ends. I used 16 AWG speaker wire. Thicker gauges may be harder to work with. It was easiest to run the wire through all of the parts before connecting and assembly of the speaker components

I am trying to equip my property for whole-property indoor/outdoor audio, so I can play the same music on this Sycamore outdoor system simultaneously with the existing in-ceiling speakers on a speaker selector switch.
I'm using a mid-range 100W/channel 5.1 AV receiver, and I have a couple of other 75W to 100W 5.1 receivers that I can involve for these Sycamore outdoor speakers. I don't want to buy another amp. I don't plan to play it loudly; just for background music.
I assume this Sycamore outdoor system requires a lot of power compared to a pair of in-ceiling speakers, so I don't expect that I can just add this new Sycamore outdoor channel as a fourth channel on my existing 4-channel speaker selector?
Could I dedicate my receiver/amp's B-speakers channel to the Sycamore system, while letting the A-speakers output drive several other indoor speaker pairs on a speaker selector with volume controls to balance the indoor (A) vs outdoor (B) volume? This is the way I'm leaning, but would appreciate any experiences since we are hosting an indoor/outdoor event a few days after these are delivered, so I won't have much time to order more equipment if needed. Thank you in advance!

BEST ANSWER: Just wanted to follow up that I successfully have these working as I had planned: This Sycamore system is driven by the B speaker outputs on my amp. It also works I connect this system to the Surround L & R channels (I have another set of outdoor full range speakers on the "Front" channels), and run the AV receiver in "5-Ch Stereo" mode, but configure the amp so that there is NOT a subwoofer, so that full range lows are sent to the Sycamore system.

Great, inexpensive way to add some outdoor coverage!
Easy to hook up to the existing subwoofer+2.5 satellite set.

Great product
These sound great for the price. I installed 1 subwoofer and 4 speakers. Was just looking for something to fill the pool area with some ambiance sound, and this does it great. It does get pretty loud and holds it well if that?s what you?re looking for. They are easy to install. Not the best instructions, but with any background in speaker wiring it should be pretty self explanatory. Definitely recommend these especially at the price.

Amazing Sound, Quality, and Value
Linked 8 satellite speakers to a Sycamore sub as part of a deck project. The sound is amazing! It fills up the entire yard without being overpowering. I didn't drop the wires into the ground as construction is ongoing. I installed directly into the deck and tied the subwoofer to a footing under the deck. I used 14/4 wiring between the speakers and into my amplifier but needed to use 18/2 to insert into the speakers (anything thicker was too difficult to install). I could not be happier, hope my photos provide a solid representation.

Very happy. Less expensive than the wire needed!
Super happy with this system, especially for the price. With a 50W per channel entry level AV receiver, I'm able to fill my 75' x 75' backyard with sound using one subwoofer and a total of 4 satellites. At low to moderate volumes, the directional satellites keep the sound on my property instead of bothering the neighbors.
I ran 12gauge landscape lighting wire 90' from amp to subwoofer. Then more 12 gauge to the satellites (because they're 15 to 30 feet from the sub. But the satellite guide holes and terminals will only fit 16g wire, so I connected 12 gauge to 16 gauge for the last 6" into the satellite. I also had to drill out the the wire guide holes a little to easily get the wire through them.
Instructions recommend 6' to 8' satellite spacing, which I now see is because they are fairly directional. Wider spacing will result in some gaps in the sound field as you walk around in the space you're trying to serve with sound, but not bad at 10' feet apart.

Sycamore Satellite Speakers
Used 4 of these with direct runs to a 1000 watt 5.1 home theater amp. Sound quality was excellent outdoors for movie watching and it would have been easy to annoy the neighbors with the volume. Disk that mounts on the bottom of the speakers does not seem to add much and can be omitted. Have not had these installed outdoors long enough to gauge durability.

Sounds great in the back yard.
We have 2 sets of these speakers along with the buried subwoofer outside around our pool deck. Two speakers are mouted up high in an arbor and two others are spaced around the deck. We have the connected to Monoprice amplifier varius inputs. One of which is a Google Cast. The whole thing really sound great. For a couple full range speakers and subwoofer, the whole back yard is filled with sound that isn't overbearing most of the time, but can get fairly loud if we want it to.

Exactly what i was looking for in sound for outside
i have to admit i was a little skeptical cause the price seemed to low for that type of system.
i been looking for an outdoor sound system and was trying many sound bars but none gave me the sound that i was looking for outdoors.
Sure it was loud but i was looking for good sound stereo sound. Once the bass arrived I knew it was going to do the trick.
I found a good spot for the bass. buried it and connected the satellite garden speakers and BAMM!!!! WOW the sound was AMAZING! Sounded like being at Diznee.
Best part is they look like flood lights and you cant tell they are the speakers. So it sounds like the music is coming from everywhere.
I hosted a small get together and the sound was perfect for ambient sound and then the dancing came and they went up.
Way up! WOW so loud and the bass pumping. I was so impressed and happy. ( not so much the neighbors)
I couldn't believe the sound for the price. Seriously the price is perfect. Keep them coming. I am thinking about expanding the system by getting more satellite garden speakers.
I am definitely recommending these to anyone looking for outdoor sound

Worth far more than their price
Ive been An audio enthusiast, and even owned a custom car stereo shop, for many years. Im super critical of sound quality, but feel theres also a balance for that when it comes to cost. As Im designing a pool sound system that wont break the bank, I discovered these. For such a low price, I didnt have high hopes. Are they going to rival systems that are thousands of dollars? No. Im not looking for that level of sound in my pool. However, I was shocked at the level of clarity and volume they provide for their cost, or even 5 times their price. Im impressed.
