The inverted-J part that mounts to the underside of the desk looks like it's made to hook over something, but I can't tell what from any of the pictures. Can someone please explain?

BEST ANSWER: It's designed to hook over the support bars of your desk (under the desktop). In my case I purchased my stand up desk frame separate from the desktop and would have had the opportunity to mount them in this fashion prior to attaching the top. I opted instead to mount it flush against the back end of the desk top using the provided screws through the "inverted-j" as you called it. Hope that helps..

BEST ANSWER: No, you have to take the top off to mount it. I purchased it but have not been able to mount it since I would need to dismantle a four monitor rig to do so.

It's not easy to add these to the desk after adding a worktop. You'd likely need to take it off, hang them, and then reattach it.

Hi, the bracket opening is 1 inch wide, and 2.75" tall. If the bracket does not fit your frame, it is possible to screw the top of the bracket directly under a desktop. Hope this helps. Thanks.

How wide is the clamp opening?

BEST ANSWER: I just measured and it is 28 mm max opening. that is with Foam pad on one side and no pad but ability to have it slip on the other side. If you took off the foam pad you may be able to get 30 mm out out it.

Can this hook over (and clamp to) the cross bar of an Uplift Desk? It looks like the cross bar is about 18mm wide and, while it appears the clamp is made to fit larger, can it squeeze down to < 18mm?

BEST ANSWER: Hi, this should work but we don't have that product to confirm compatibility 100%. If it's too loose, you could insert a spacer to fill the gap. It is also possible to screw this cable tray directly to the bottom of a desktop. Hope this helps.

An essential must have.
Don't be a savage with wires all over the place, this really helps, I have a surge protector in here and hide all my power cables, then just one cable needs to be long enough to go up and down.. Its great. I got two one for each side but that was overkill one is probably good enough.
