The cord is too heavy. The ear hooks broke. The ear tips are not angled correctly and the tips are too large and don't seal properly. The mids are honky and the highs are rolled off. They do have good lows, clarity and imaging. If you can get comfortable, they are worth the cost.
These are the best earbuds I've ever had! It definitely took some time to find the best way to put them on along with the right tips (clear earhook and foam dekonis for me) They are also great for the office because they retain alot of detail at low volumes.
This is my personal review of the M300 in Ear Planar open box.
The package arrived with all the accessories witch is good. I read some complaints about the Mmcx cable is to thick. the ear clips prone to break and poor ear tips insolation. in anticipation to that I order a replacement cable an a set of COMPLY 600 insolation ear tips. All of the above is true, the replacement cable is so light that it does not pull the earphones down, also when I put the comply 600, I tell you it was a revelation, they seal the ear canal real well and tight that I did not have to use of the ear clips, I tested by shaking my head, the stayed put.
Overall I give the M300 a 4 stars because I have to replace the items mentioned, nothing to do with the sound. Just my 2 cents.
My setup consist of. iPhone 7,Fiio Q1 Mark ll and Onkyo HF player app, File format mainly DSD,FLAC and AIFF.
Fantastic sound. I get most of my HD6XX experience on the go now. I do wish the plastic over ear clips weren’t so cheap and fragile. Broke the black set a week in the owning them by literally just wearing them. I wasn’t even steching them to put them on or anything. There’s plenty of spares so I’m not too heart broken about it.
I've had a few headphones and amps including Senneheiser, Sony, and quite a few amps both solid state and tubes. These rate definitely on the higher end and are very smooth and dynamic. The only caveat is keeping them in the ear canals long enough so they don't fall out or make a new hole for an earring. I came across a hybrid adapter with an inner ear clip and plug in combo and also use a different connecting cable that won't fight with and pull them out by themselves. Aftermarket extras are the way to go....
Amazing Value: Great headphones with some lackluster accessories.
Fantastic audio quality with minimal or no distortion. I think in terms of value, this is one of the best you can get. I replaced the cable with a brainwavz cable for 10 bucks, because it was so heavy. In total, I paid 120 for planar magnetic earbuds. The next closest alternative would be the Audeze Isine LX for 200. Killer value. The cable is heavy, and the black ear clips broke, the ear tips are only ok, but I bought dekoni tips for 5 dollars.
Sorry my review was so all over the place, I never write reviews. I love the quality of the audio, and recommend them open box over new. They came with everything in the box, and in impeccable shape.
