Can the right and left arms be at different heights?
New User U
on May 19, 2021
BEST ANSWER: In short, yes. The mounting point to the central rod (where all three arms are connected) is shared between the left and right arms. Sliding that point up and down moves left and right up and down together, but the articulation of the left and right arms are independent. I have a setup where my left and center monitors are the same and my right monitor is a vertical screen adjusted to a different height.

They can be but only if you have very small or very light monitors, otherwise the monitors will sink down low. Even though my monitors aren't near the weight limit for the arms on this mount, they still sink down to the lowest point. Furthering that, the monitor in the middle won't be "level" with the other two so it'll look and feel weird.

If the arms on your stand aren't maintaining the height you place, it means you haven't adjusted the preload, step 6 in the instructions.

Each left and right gas spring arm can adjust up and down independently, so yes they can be at different heights.
They both however are attached to the base at the same height always, as their arms share the same part that connects to the vertical pole piece of the base.

the side arms attach to the same base on the middle column, but the end segments on each arm can be raised and lowered independently so your left and right screens can be different heights by about 12 inches (30cm)

Yes. They share the same base but they otherwise move independently of each other in all directions. So they will "start" at the same place but can be at different heights from that starting point.

The mount will hold a total of 45 pounds (max 15 lbs per monitor). But more important is that each monitor must have a VESA mount hold pattern on the back. No VESA, you cannot use this mount (or any mount of this type).

Those HP monitors are on the heavy side (21.6lbs) this mount is rated for 15.4lbs, you would probably have issues with the arms staying up. I'd say it depends how much the stands weigh.

BEST ANSWER: Yes it has thread on one end and screws into the base (either clamp bracket base or permanent screw mount base-both are supplied). But be aware the right and left arms require the center pole to attach to the mount. the center pole could be cut shorter with a metal saw. Overall I'm very happy with this product!

How far does the center fixed mount extend from the pole?

BEST ANSWER: Almost 5 inches from center of pole to the face of mount/ back of monitor.
Or to get less you can rotate to the side of the pole then it's under 3" but then the center monitor is offset from the pole a couple of inches that can affect the symmetry of your setup.

Can you mount this to the wall?

BEST ANSWER: You would have to do some engineering to mount this mount on a wall. It is intended to be either bolted or clamped to a desk. If you look at the PDF of the manual, page 2, Step 1a-1 on the left side, you will see that part E "could" be anchored to a wall. But like I said, it would take some engineering.

I have the model with the middle articulating arm bit its basically the same. You should easily be able to do this as long as the monitors aren't over 20lbs. They also have a dual monitor arm system that supports up to 34", but this one will give you a larger range of motion.

BEST ANSWER: Hi, 32" monitors are at the upper limit of the recommended sizes for this mount. This mount will support them but the adjustment angles would be constrained by the wider displays. Side angles would be closer to 12-15 degrees at 3x32" if the monitors are positioned to not overlap. Hope this helps.

You can mount 32” monitors. But you would not have sufficient reach to turn the two side monitors at 45 degrees. That would be like putting a pair of 42 inch monitors on the outside

BEST ANSWER: I don't have curved monitors, but I believe that they would work. The rotational adjustment let me position my 3 flat monitors in a curved pattern.
The thing that i did not like about this mount is the fact that the gas shocks do not support any weight. I have a 32" monitor in the center and 22" monitors on either side. The monitors attached to the gas shocks fall to the bottom. The pair of side arms can be slid up the center post, and that is how i was able to get level.
In then end, the mount holds my monitors where i need them. I can rotate them into any position I need. But raising and lowering is not done easily.

BEST ANSWER: Hi, 30 lbs would be too heavy, the monitor might give you issues with adjustments at best, and it may cause damage or injury at worst. We did test a 25lb screen, the mount handled it during testing but the tilt and rotate adjustments did not feel as tight even after torquing down the adjustment screws. And while it worked for the short test, the adjustments might start feeling loose and might not be as adjustable in the long term so we cannot recommend it. Thanks for checking.

Is it easy to adjust the height up and down of the fixed center mounted monitor?
New User U
on Nov 21, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hi, it is easy enough to adjust when you are setting up your computer and monitors and you can adjust it without the need for tools. But it is not meant to be instantly adjustable during daily use so reaching behind your monitor to make adjustments might get cumbersome. It's doable but not ideal. Hope this helps.

I am looking at doing a 32" in the middle and then a 23" on each side. How low do the sides allow you to go? I like my monitors sitting just off my desk. I see that the minimum height is 6.9" is that to the middle of the mounting plate on the side arms?

on Dec 6, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hi, you are correct. 6.9" is to the middle of the mounting plate, so that should be low enough to bring monitors to be sitting on a desk. You can measure if the center of the VESA mount to see if it would be able to sit on your desk, most likely it should be able to. Thanks for checking.

Workstream by Monoprice Triple Monitor Gas Spring Mount for up to 32in Screens, Fully Adjustable Center Mount
BEST ANSWER: Hi, yes this is possible. But we recommend the pictured orientation to put the center of gravity closer to the base. Switching them works but might be a bit shakier if that makes sense. Thanks for checking.

I have a Massdrop Vast 35" ultra-wide curved monitor and 2 Dell 24" monitors that are in Portrait mode. Would this monitor are work with that setup? The measurement from center point to center point of the VESA mounts is about 25" with them sitting on my desk the way I would want them setup. Based on the diagram it looks like there is about 28" (7.8+7.8+12.4) if "wingspan" for the side monitors.

on Jan 13, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi, you are correct, each side can stretch out to about 28" of wingspan. However, the curved monitor might require you to angle the side arms a bit to bring the monitors forward, so this could reduce the actual wingspan you could get. If you can do a mock-up on your desk again, this time take note how forward your side monitors have to be and angle your ruler after 16" to simulate the first two segments, it should give you a better idea. Hope this helps. Thanks.

Is there a way to get a 4th arm for a 3+1 setup? Would like to have a 4th monitor above the other 3.

BEST ANSWER: The fit would be really tight as you would need to lower the bottom units pretty far down in order for the top monitor to fit and not hit the lower ones. If the center stalk was taller, you would have no problem. In any case, you would have to contact the importer of this stand as they would have to contact the factory to get another center mounting ring. If Monoprice can't do that, I have no idea where you would start to inquire about that part.

Is it possible to install only one of the side arms?
A shopper
on Nov 7, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Kind of, you unscrew the arm from its holder that snugs around the pole. It'll be uneven, especially if the side monitor is very far away, so make sure it's well secured to the desk. It may be cheaper to get 2 monitor mounts (one center and one with an arm) and put them both on the same pole.

How hard would it be to retrofit this for VR tracking stations? Thinking about doing non-roomscale and sticking this on my desk behind my monitors.
2 main questions: is there an adapter somewhere for the 1/4" screw so I could mount it cleanly? If I don't use the center pole, can I move the L/R arms all the way up?

BEST ANSWER: Hi, we have not tested the application your are describing, but if you have mounting hardware, you could use the VESA mounting positions for your custom use.
On your two main questions: you have the option to either use the clamp for mounting to a desk edge, or you could drill two 1/4" holes to use through-hole mounting. You could move the L/R arms through the length of the pole, including all the way up. You could also swap the position if you want to mount a monitor to the center mount and have the arms sticking all the way up. Thanks.

This thing is by far a hell of a product. I have never had any problems with the things I have gotten from them. The quality for the price is definitely unbeatable. I've had this now for a little over a year, perhaps more and they are holding my three MSI 144hz 27" Curve monitor with no problem.

Good value. Would buy again.
Works nicely. The clamp holding the dual arm didn't go tight enough to keep it locked and I had to use a different bolt from my garage.

Does Not Work as Expected
I attached a 32" in the center, and 24" on both sides. I can lift the arms on the sides, but they drop. Gas arms do not hold any weight. This is the first Monoprice item that I have bought that I was not happy with.

Good enough
This is an alright monitor mount. Nothing fantastic, but not horrible either. Just middle of the road as far as build construction and quality goes. It holds 3 x 27" that weigh 4.25 - 4.4 Kg (9.3 - 9.9 lbs) well enough but they're a little tight in spacing even with relatively thin bezels. I don't game anymore so I can't tell you how well they work for gaming immersion, but it's alright overall for spreadsheets, graphic design and the like. It also frees up a considerable amount of desk space. Complaints from other users about the monitors needing risers are correct, the brackets are tight on my monitors. I imagine you could get some risers from a local hardware store, but that feels like an unnecessary extra trip. It also brings the center monitor forward by an inch or two from the edge of the desk, so if you're on a short desk like I am (25" depth) it can feel a bit too close for a 27" monitor. (The recommended distance from a 27" monitor is like 1.4' to 2.6 ft for a 1440p monitor, just google "recommended monitor viewing distance chart")
Anyhow, it's reasonably okay and I would buy again for $100, but it doesn't have a "premium" feel to it. More like a "made in China" feel.

Strong, Sturdy? 27? Screens Will Result in Uncomfortable Viewing For Gaming
This triple monitor mount is great however 2 things were deal breakers for me.
First, the mount does not have the necessary hardware for attaching monitors with recessed VESA integration. The kit requires spacers in order to bring the mounting brackets flush with the back of each monitor.
Second, the arms are barely wide enough at their maximum to fit 3 27? thin bezel monitors and the result is a very flat appearance, no arc. This makes it very uncomfortable for gaming.
The mount is well built and the installation is moderate difficulty. I did not like the 3M pad being used to protect the desk. I would hope that a better solution could be offered.
I?m giving it 2 stars because this mount changes its purpose based on screen size & the lack of hardware for adaptability for different kind of monitors.

Great Desk mount
This mount is everything listed and more! I have ordered multi monitor mounts for work several times and this one is very sturdy and works well with the larger monitors. If you going for anything over 32 in wide though you will only be able to use the two outside arms with 2x monitors. The tension nut works great for locking down the height.

The monitor stand is nicely built and hold all three monitors. Lot of options for placement. With a couple of adjustments, I was able to make it work on a stand up Varidesk desk.
