One would think the female end of this would also contain female threads to be screwed into, that's not the case here, it's as shown in the pictures, but it wasn't expected, I have to duct tape the two ends together to make sure they don't fall off from one another. Otherwise, it's an excellent cable with no noticeable degradation in video signal quality.
PROS: Works as it should for the most part
CONS: Female end doesn't have female threads for the male end to screw into (no pun intended)
I recently got the Logitech Z623 desktop speaker system, and its right-hand speaker connects to the subwoofer via VGA connector, presumably to send volume control signals etc from the controls embedded in the speaker. The cable it came with wasn't long enough, so I extended it with one of these. I've seen posts on the internet indicating that some VGA cables don't work for this (due to not having all 15 pins connected), but this one does. I hope this review helps someone, but that seems unlikely.
I put one of these on each of my 2 PCs. Now, I plug my monitor into one or the other depending on which PC I want to use. Makes it easier than having to pull the tower out to switch cables. No apparent loss of video signal quality.
Great cables. I was using old KVM cables as extensions and the picture quality was terrible. The 2 monitors that have these new extension cables look as clear as the 2 that aren't extended now. They are thicker and nicer than most of the cables that come with the monitors. The only reason I rated a 9 instead of 10 was because they don't have a way to screw onto the existing cable I extended. I secured it with a zip tie.
